From the Court to the Mic Bill Cartwright on Resilience, Reinvention & Audiobook Storytelling

In this episode of The Art of Music Tech Podcast, host Fela Davis sits down with five-time NBA champion Bill Cartwright to discuss his remarkable journey from a small-town upbringing to the highest levels of professional basketball and now, audiobook storytelling. Cartwright shares the powerful story behind his distinctive voice, the result of a career-altering throat injury that required multiple surgeries and ultimately reshaped how he communicates, leads, and listens. He reflects on how this challenge became a strength, influencing his approach to teamwork, coaching, and life. The conversation dives into the foundation of his success, including a childhood rooted in hard work, discipline, and persistence, as well as the mindset that carried him through high school, college, and into the NBA. Cartwright also offers insight into his time with the Chicago Bulls, the importance of preparation over talent, and how embracing a role contributed to championship success. Beyond basketball, he discusses entrepreneurship, lessons from owning businesses, and the inspiration behind writing his book, a story shaped by faith, guidance, and following opportunities rather than forcing outcomes. The episode also explores the future of storytelling through audio, as Cartwright partners with 23dB Productions to bring his book to life using remote recording and AI-assisted voice technology, making his story more accessible despite vocal limitations. Ultimately, this episode is a powerful reflection on resilience, adaptability, and the impact of consistent effort, on and off the court. 23dB Content Production Report: Adam Audio D3V Review

In this episode of The Art of Music Tech Podcast, host Fela sat down with Aalics from The Kub.E.Hole studio to dive into the brand-new Adam Audio D3V speaker. Compact yet powerful, this monitor left all of us impressed with how much sound it delivers for its size. After hands-on testing, here are three clear wins we experienced with the D3V:   Compact Size, Big Sound The first thing that stood out was how small yet mighty the D3V really is. Its footprint makes it easy to place in tighter spaces, but the sound is anything but small. The clarity and depth were strong enough to trust for mixing, which is rare in speakers this size. Versatility in Any Space The D3V’s adaptable room settings and connectivity options make it easy to tailor to your environment. Whether you’re working in a treated studio or a makeshift home setup, the speaker adjusts smoothly. Alex highlighted how this flexibility allows creatives to get professional-level results without worrying about room limitations. Portability Without Compromise Finally, the D3V’s portable design makes it ideal for engineers and producers on the move. You can carry them into different studios or use them for personal listening without losing consistency in your mixes. That combination of portability and reliability is a huge win for anyone balancing multiple creative spaces.   Overall, the Adam Audio D3V proves that you don’t have to sacrifice quality for convenience. A true standout in today’s audio landscape.   Tip: Always test monitors in multiple spaces. What sounds great in one room might reveal surprises in another. The D3V’s versatility helps you make the right mix choices, wherever you are.    Content Pro — Mid-level to pro creators doing client-facing or sponsored work   Learn more about Adam Audio: https://www.adam-audio.com/en/desktop/d3v/   Show 23db Productions Some Love by following us and telling a friend!
