RELATIONSHIPS: Week #2 - Marriage & Dating (Matt Massey)

This series is about what God actually says about doing relationships well. Not opinions. Not advice from someone who has it all figured out. God's Word — applied to the marriages, friendships, families, and workplaces we actually live in. This week we go to one of the most misread, most misused, most avoided passages in the New Testament: Ephesians 5:22-33. Wives, submit to your husbands. Before you close the tab — read verse 21 first. Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ. That's the verse most people skip. And it changes everything that follows. The Greek word for submit here is hypotassō — to voluntarily place yourself under another for their good. Not passivity. Not silence. Not a power imbalance dressed up in religious language. It's a posture of strength, rooted in knowing you've already been radically loved and served by Jesus, who submitted himself for us first. And the call isn't just to wives. Paul calls husbands to love their wives the way Christ loved the church — a love that gave everything, held nothing back, and laid down its life. That's not a soft ask. That's the highest standard of love that exists. When both people in a relationship choose that posture — not "what do I get out of this" but "how do I get to serve" — something entirely different becomes possible. EVERYDAY EVANGELISM: Week #2 – Naturally Supernatural (Clay Harrington)

Sharing your faith doesn't have to feel like a formula. It starts with authentic relationships, honest stories, persistent prayer, and staying open to what God's already doing around you. This series will help you notice everyday moments as chances to love your neighbors well and let your life point them toward Jesus. Week 2 of Everyday Evangelism is about what it looks like when the power of God moves through ordinary people in ordinary places. Here's something we don't talk about enough: most people aren't skeptical about the supernatural. They're fascinated by it. Tarot cards, horoscopes, palm readings, paranormal events — curiosity about what's beyond the visible world is everywhere. The church doesn't need to convince the world that the supernatural is real. The world already believes it. We just need to show them the real thing. But somewhere along the way, a lot of Christians forgot that the same power that brought them to faith in the first place — the power of the Holy Spirit — is still at work, still available, and still moving through people who stay attentive and available. That's what it means to be naturally supernatural. Not changing the tone of your voice. Not performing something you're not. Not being weirder than you have to be. Just being yourself — while staying attentive to what the Holy Spirit is already doing in the room, the conversation, the moment. –––––––––– Resource Page for Everyday Evangelism Series – vincin.us/everyday Send us Fan Mail Support the show 🔗 https://www.vineyardcincinnati.com 🎥 Youtube  🎥 Watch full messages follow @vineyardcincinnati
