For anyone who is curious about where we have come from and why we behave in some our most inscrutable ways: This series by Noel Armstrong is the most useful that I’ve listened to by any of the innumerable legions of podcasters. He packs so much information with rapid fire dry wit that repeated listening is essential! Daniel Sprick

Fabulous podcast. As a veterinarian I love the episodes on worst years to be alive, viruses and bacteria. Gosh - I love it all. So well presented, researched with solid “gallow’s humour” and great topics. Wish when I went to university all my professors made bacteria and disease carrying vectors as riveting. Absolute gem of a podcast. Thank you Noel!
I listen religiously!

It’s a great day when Noel puts out another podcast. Love the delivery of information and the format. Mad respect for the work and detail that goes into these.
So interesting

This is just a a brilliant podcast. The series on the historical Jesus was utterly fascinating and totally new to me. The stuff on Mao was terrific but really it all is. I don’t like the interview pods as much, but just listening to Armstrong tell stories and speculate and philosophize is healthy entertainment time and again. The most recent episode on the TX Tower Shooter was particular insightful I thought, and a good example of the HOBH wheelhouse, s story told well and then interrogated for clues of the human condition.

Truly. One of the best podcasts out there. I listen to shows multiple times. Great presentation, narration, humour and choice of topics. Noel is my hero. I turn all my friends onto this podcast.
One of the very best history podcasts

I love this podcast series and have been listening for years. Noel Armstrong has a great radio voice and he so appropriately seems to frequently on the verge of laughter. Don’t be fooled by the light hearted delivery, significant effort must go into preparing for each information packed yet throughly listenable episode. It is a great day when I discover Noel has dropped a new episode. Other days a go back re listen to past episodes with as much pleasure as the first time.
Review of Climate Change and Human History

Coming from Hailey's Youtube channel and realizing this is such an awesome podcast album! As a PhD student studying atmospheric physics and climate science, I found this episode pretty intersting. I was impressed by how detailed you got into this topic from the view of paleoclimate evidence. I would say that the basic concepts liek weather, climate, last glacial maximum, Milankovich cycle, relationship between oxygen isotope ratios and temperature are roughly correct! Good job! Only one thing, I don't think there is clear concensus that the anthropogenic greenhouse effect will be strong enough to go aganist the glaical-interglacial cycle.
