    Thea's Arrival Story

Hosts Jason and Allison recount the dramatic and unexpected birth of their second child, Thea. Recorded in October 2021 (but covering events from July 2021), this episode walks through the full journey — from a routine 36-week ultrasound that turned into an immediate induction, to three failed epidurals, a rapid delivery that caught everyone off guard, and a tense first few minutes as Thea needed help breathing. Along the way, they share the small, human details: the acai bowl Allison refused to give up, the frantic packing of a go-bag, the veteran nurse who coached them through it all, and the surprising ease of recovery compared to their first child's birth.

The episode centers on their son Weston's speech delay diagnosis at age two, his year of weekly therapy through Childhaven's early intervention program, and the eventual autism spectrum diagnosis from a neurologist.

    202. How to support expecting moms? w/ special guest Megan

Learning that your friend is pregnant is exciting, and many of us want to ask lots of questions. It can be a bit overwhelming for expectant parents, answering the same questions or trying to reflect on all the future changes coming fast to them. We sit down with Megan, friend of the podcast, to discuss her thoughts on impending parenthood, handling a miscarriage, and all sorts of goodness. Enjoy!
