Raised in the church my whole life I’ve pew hopped my way through a few different denominations. I left in 2013 with some church hurt. I Just recently with the political climate in the States I started discovering podcasts on religion, deconstructing, Christian nationalism ect… But I need my bad news mixed with comedy so it goes down better. I was actually trying to search someone talking about Christian Science when I found this podcast. I listened to 1, then 2, I picked a few topics I liked and just gave a few episodes a try. I have now started with episode 1 and I am on the hillsong episode. I will be listening to every single one! It’s silly and fun. I giggle & I nod my head. My favorite part…Christian song lyric of the week! I’m hoping that you keep that segment all the way through :) So far I’ve known quite a few of the songs and the ones I didn’t I’m happy to know now. You have made me feel seen, cuz I too support a transgender family member! 5 stars for atheist fun & entertainment that is knowledgeable.

I may not have been quite as devout as you were when I belonged to a church, specifically the Episcopal church, but I did decide that I couldn’t stand the hypocrisy that was evident in the Christian religion as a whole! So I became an atheist, although to be fair, as I mentioned before, I never really did believe in all of the miracles and the virgin birth thing, and I was ALWAYS questioning things, it’s just the type of person that I am, I make a point of not taking everything at face value, and believers don’t really like that, no matter what sect you belong to!
Found on YouTube several years ago, haven’t missed an episode since.

I love every episode I have heard. This podcast speaks to me as a xtian-background atheist. I really enjoy the biblical knowledge, heartfelt personal anecdotes, and the opinions shared. The relatability of the topics covered is incredible. American and Canadian xtianity are not much different in practice, but arguably different in scope and level of impact. I can tell an atheist podcast is speaking to people when religious folks leave nasty reviews. As a former xtian, I can confirm that their community, for the most part, thinks the world revolves around them and that atheists shouldn’t be allowed to speak publicly. This podcast is not for them but they can’t help but listen anyway. For atheists, agnostics, non-supremacist religious folks, the open-minded, and the intellectually curious, I think this podcast consistently delivers a thought-provoking and culturally relevant message. I enjoy the work that goes into this podcast and I appreciate this contribution to the cultural conversation.
