Symone Talks

I am Symone D, Founder and CEO of “SymoneTalks,” an organization I began as a woman who suffered in my childhood from depression, along with suicidal thoughts and ideation. I felt bound by such feelings, but once I got over the hurdles and began being comfortable talking about it, I began providing myself and others permission to be vulnerable and transparent about not being okay and provide therapeutic healing through talking. Once I was comfortable talking about it, I struggled to find a space where women could come and simply “check-in”. Now as a mental health advocate I created the space

    Strength in Softness

In this episode of Kingdom vs Culture, we continue the conversation from “Faking It” and go deeper—into a version of strength many women wear without realizing it’s become armor. Culture applauds hyper-independence: carry it all, need no one, never break. But what happens when strength becomes a mask that isolates us, hardens our hearts, and silences our need for God? Strength in Softness challenges the world’s definition of power and reintroduces us to Kingdom strength—gentle, surrendered, and rooted in faith. Through biblical examples like Ruth, Esther, Mary, and the Proverbs 31 woman, we explore how true strength isn’t found in doing everything alone, but in trusting God, embracing community, and allowing softness without shame. This episode is for the woman who’s tired of holding it all together, afraid that letting go means losing control. You’ll be encouraged to lay down pride, release silent burdens, and rediscover that gentleness is not weakness—it’s power under God’s direction. ✨ In this episode, you’ll learn: • How hyper-independence can quietly damage your faith and relationships • Why gentleness is a Kingdom strength, not a flaw • What the Bible really says about strength, humility, and surrender • Practical ways to shift from self-reliance to God-dependence As we close, we begin preparing our hearts for the next episode, Identity Crisis: Who Am I Really?—where we’ll explore who you are when the mask comes off, the armor falls, and performance is no longer required. 🎧 Tune in, take a breath, and remember: you were never meant to carry it all
