    Episode 315: For the Love of the Game

    A bit of a lull in the sports calendar; Winter Olympics are over; the Gold Medal Men's Hockey Game was AWESOME (1:43) so its back to NBA season before March Madness and Baseball pick up. A great win by the Knicks against the Spurs and the narrative surrounding the Knicks is off (2:29). Some thoughts on Wemby offensively and the Spurs as a contender (7:29), some more love for the Charlotte Hornets and Kon Knueppel (10:19). A few thoughts on the state of the Denver Nuggets and is Reed Sheppard the key to the Rockets title hopes (13:21) and a thought on the MVP race and the 65 game rule (17:19).     The NY Knicks are continuing their winning ways; 8 straight wins after a crazy double overtime win against the Denver Nuggets and the NBA trade deadline was hot this week. ATH gives his takes on some of the major moves that were made this week (3:01), some more love for Cooper Flagg and why the Doncic/Davis trade (and then the following AD trade to the Washington Wizards) almost doesn't matter because he's so good (12:39).     PACKED episode (and yes ATH is mad about the state of the NY Knicks); start it off with a congrats to the IU Hoosiers on winning the National College Football Championship and what an amazing story this is (1:34).  Then we talk NFL playoffs including Josh Allen discourse, AFC is boring, was Caleb Williams the winner of the weekend (despite losing to the Rams) and Ryan Clark is the WORST (11:28).  The NY Knicks are in a bad place (a win against the Nets doesn't negate the rant) (23:57) and lastly, LeBron James isn't voted in to start the All Star Game (thank heavens) (35:57). Then a recurring guest joins the show to talk more NFL Playoffs and NY Giants optimism (?) after hiring John Harbaugh (38:08) and lastly a recurring guest to pick NBA All Star reserves, does the ASG matter and other NBA topics (1:44:38).     PACKED Episode; 1st of 2026. Big time Football episode; College Football playoff and NFL Wildcard weekend but first ATH starts off with some final thoughts on the state of the NY Giants who are a disaster (3:24), the Knicks are in a funk and the post NBA Cup hangover is real (9:41)and then a little around the NBA thoughts; Jokic being hurt and the 65 game rule for awards, some kudos to the Celtics and Jaylen Brown, and why the Lakers stink and are way worse than their record suggests, LeBron's time is over and Luka Doncic is more of a problem than people think (13:32).
