    On Dead Dogs

This week on In A Pickle, the Rewind is packed. Antonio Brown’s hearing gets pushed back, but his attorney says AB plans to plead no contest to aggravated assault with a firearm as part of a deal that could mean three years of probation and no formal conviction—if the judge signs off. Dillon Brooks is officially charged with misdemeanor DUI stemming from his Arizona arrest, where police say he was doing 85 in a 45. Jed York gets hammered with a six-game suspension and $500,000 fine. And then there’s the bizarre Larry Nassar sex-offender-registry story: first reports said his name was removed during a massive Michigan purge—then authorities clarified that he apparently wasn’t on Michigan’s registry in the first place. In News, LaMelo Ball’s girlfriend Ana Montana faces felony charges involving allegations that a prescription for alprazolam was obtained using stolen medical credentials. Former NBA star J.R. Smith is arrested in Texas on a family-violence assault charge. And apparently even the officials can get suspended—the NFL disciplines Jeff Seeman and Adrian Hill following separate confrontations with players. Then we head to Baton Rouge for This Week’s Biggest Pickle: LSU. LSU defensive end Damien Shanklin is under criminal investigation after a woman publicly accused him of rape. A university Title IX process previously found him responsible for sexual misconduct and initially imposed a one-year suspension, but that punishment was reduced to probation on appeal. Now campus police and prosecutors are examining the allegations as a potential criminal matter. We unpack the complicated timeline, the reported Cash App payment, the administrative judge’s controversial reasoning, the accuser’s public criticism of LSU, Shanklin’s denial of wrongdoing, and the major questions surrounding how the university handled the case. This one has layers—and a whole lot of questions that still need answers.  In A Pickle — the less glamorous side of sports. iapradio.com #InAPickle #IAPRadio #SportsNews #AntonioBrown #DillonBrooks #JedYork #LSUFootball #CollegeFootball #NFL #NBA #SportsPodcast

    Shiny Happy People

This week on In A Pickle, we’ve got commissioner’s lists, courtroom drama, a major twist in the Jerry Sandusky case, and one of the wildest alleged sports scams we’ve seen. We revisit Jonathan Cooper, who has pleaded not guilty to charges stemming from his domestic violence arrests and has now been placed on the Commissioner’s Exempt List. With a jury trial scheduled for November, his season remains in limbo. Then in the News, Packers running back Josh Jacobs lands on the Commissioner’s Exempt List following his May arrest and subsequent misdemeanor charges. Then, a stunning development in the Jerry Sandusky case: “Victim 10,” who testified for the prosecution in 2012, now says in a sworn affidavit that Sandusky did not abuse him and alleges his original testimony was influenced by prosecutors.  This Week’s Biggest Pickle: Daejon Love Who is Daejon Love? Apparently, not an NFL wide receiver. Love allegedly posed as a San Francisco 49ers player while he and an accomplice ran an investment scheme that prosecutors say defrauded 26 women out of roughly $1.3 million. Luxury cars, dating apps, a fake financial adviser, and an entire bogus NFL career—this one has everything. And yes, we also need to address the only evidence necessary against Jed York: the Yankees shirt. LOCK HIM UP!
