Brian Downes has spent nearly 30 years helping leaders and organisations perform better. But ask him what shaped him most and he'll talk about a frozen lake in Mongolia, a mountain in Kerry and the grandmothers he lost when he was young. He's a Performance Architect by trade, working with CEOs and leadership teams of scaling businesses to figure out why performance isn't where it should be and fixing it. He's climbed Kilimanjaro, been arrested in Ghana, crossed Lake Khövsgöl in Mongolia with a group of strangers and coached the Ireland Masters Hockey team to a World Cup bronze medal among other adventures. Brian believes that the best performers, in business and in life, are the ones who've learned to find their way through genuine uncertainty. Not because they had all the answers, but because they kept moving anyway. He's the founder of Purple Flame Consulting, Co-founder of Performance Nerds, creator of the Performance Architecture Model, and President of the Professional Speaking Association of Ireland.     This episode of the podcast is the first of our rebranding to Healthy Happy Humans Podcast and in this episode I explain why the change as well as sharing some valuable tips and nuggets to empower and enrich one's life. Your health is your wealth and thus being healthy needs to be a key goal for you. Having spent now over 3 decades educating, guiding and supporting people all over the world in regaining control of their health I aim to use the podcast as another tool in this purpose. You want to be happy right? We all do. It's the goal for us all in life. However so much of how the world is designed and societal conditioning sees the vast majority not happy. However this does not need to be the case BUT one must put a conscious effort into the internal work and create internal happiness. One cannot be happy from external sources. True internal happiness allows us experience happiness from the external sources. This is the order it needs to go in. So on this podast I lay the foundations for the name change and explain the key ethos and importance of a focus on Healthy and Happy.
