It remains the most valuable — and confounding — art heist in history: 13 artworks stolen from Boston’s Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum. Twenty-eight years later, not a single piece in a haul worth half a billion dollars has surfaced. The art, and the thieves who made off with it, remain at large. With first-ever interviews, unprecedented access, and more than a year of investigative reporting, "Last Seen" takes us into the biggest unsolved art heist in history. A joint production from WBUR and The Boston Globe.

Great, and sometimes funny, mystery podcast!

I very much enjoyed this podcast, and looked forward to my daily run in order to listen to the next episode.

A few episodes are dedicated to investigative leads that led nowhere, which may be unsatisfying to some, but I imagine that’s how it works in real world cases - it’s not an Law & Order episode. I typically skip the summary/making of episodes, but this one was good and offered additional perspective.

Decent but ultimately disappointing

This podcast chased down a lot of possible suspects and it was interesting to learn about Boston’s criminal underworld, but it came to a very unsatisfactory conclusion. The last episode, “The Big Dig,” was a waste of time. I can’t believe no one checked municipal records to make sure the box buried underground wasn’t the septic system. It was the first thing I thought of when it was first mentioned on the podcast. That oversight made me question the other reporting.
