    S2E3: 3 Friends speak about personal growth

    Episode 3 of the second season of StoryVox is a follow up to the Capacity Building Episode that aired on 4 weeks ago. I encourage you to listen here if you have not. I asked three of my friends who I know are living intentionally to share how they build capacity in their lives, and how it changes them. I also asked them to share their top tip for effective capacity building. My friends Anjola Coker is Houston Texas-based digital artist, poet, and Storyteller. In the less than 2 years we have known each other, I have been inspired by her creativity through poetry, art, and film. Toyin Ajilore introduces herself as a child of God, a warrior who sits at the intersection of education and entrepreneurship. She teaches young people to be leaders as a lecturer at the Department of Geology, University of Ibadan and develops young entrepreneurs through ONE Foundation, formerly known as the Grassroots Business Hub, an entrepreneurship foundation that trains new business owners in Nigeria to take their business to the next level. Samuel Osho is a multi-faceted genius who currently works as an engineer in Canada. He is skillful with words as an award-winning public speaker and writer and website designer.     I froze. I could not get the next word out. No. For several awkward moments, I struggled, my mind racing through the points, unable to voice them out.  Everyone watched in anticipation, ostensibly praying that I would find my voice...  I wish I could tell you I recovered.     S1E5: Lemons, Lemonades and Everything in-between

    Hello Friends, It seems like yesterday when we watched the ball drop! 2019 started and as a breeze, we are more than halfway to checking off the first quarter. It is indeed true that time flies, and also true that many (far too many!) people merely go through life, happy when good things happen and disillusioned during challenging times.  Only a select purposeful people have been able to recognize the importance of intentional living every day and have mastered how to pursue life to full potential through the buzz and the downtimes. Also, it's so easy to live in anticipation of satisfaction from the spotlight, the big events - when I get that job, turn 18, land promotion; then I will... - and neglect the present, the in-between. There is much wisdom in growing (not just going) through the experiences of every day, especially the negative experiences because they often form gemstones in life's treasury.  This is what we've been thinking about lately at the Studio and have culled a 2-part series titled "lemons, Lemonades and everything in-between" where we discussed 10 life tips for growing through the process of life into your purpose.  We are excited to feature Ayomikun Adeniran, a mathematician, musician, speaker, author and doctoral student at the Texas A&M University, College Station (Whoop!). The podcast features quality audio dramas, creative interviews and intentional life skills designed to inspire hope in young people and empower them to pursue life with purpose and diligence despite negative circumstances around them. At GrandHeights, we believe that young people can do great things with their lives, usually what they need and what most people miss or aren't equipped to give them is wings that would empower them to soar. By wings, we mean the resources that inspire hope and the connections that can empower young people to realize their life's full potential. This podcast seeks to help young people develop the audacity to believe and discover purpose and also teach the practices that hone unique giftedness and strength through life's challenges. We want young people to never stop dreaming despite the circumstances they might have been born into or have been surrounded with but to live, a creative life that involves the discovery of purpose and leveraging their unique gifts to impact the world.
