Football 301 has thoughtful & funny discussions, about every level of the game. Nate Tice is about as good as it gets. Charles McDonald is much missed, though. Nate sometimes refers to “my dad” without explanation; but while everyone Nate’s met in the world of football has known about Mike Tice, there are surely some listeners who’ll primarily think of Mike as “Nate Tice’s dad.”

The analysis from Nate Tice is phenomenal. Love listening to it. Two criticisms: 1) They don’t talk about Jalen Hurts like he’s limited. They talk about him like it’s actually painful to even say his name out loud. 2) Nate, please monitor your usage of the word ‘kinda’. It’s every other word.

I listen to almost exclusively football podcasts but this is by far the best one. Less about providing the listener with en vogue coaching lingo or film review with questionable conclusions and questionable data finds. More about breaking down concepts on both sides of the ball with someone that has a unique familiarity with coaching trees and lineage. Really deep insights into what nfl coaches and executives are looking for and asking for in the players and units on every team in the league. You get spicy hot takes that have no secret rage-bait intentions. This is the only one out where i am still learning about a game i’ve watched for 30 years and actually feel closer to it through listening to the conversations.

Fitzy and Schwab carry this pod on their backs. Jori is incredibly knowledgeable and does a great job as well… actually all these guys and gals are great. So knowledgeable.
