    Episode 385: Coach Wyatt Walker: "Obsessed with Improvement"

    Wyatt Walker enters his second season coaching the Girls Varsity Basketball at Episcopal. In his first season, the Eagles reached the regional semi-finals of the FHSAA playoffs. With notable wins over Windermere Prep, University Christian, and Father Lopez, the Eagles return the majority of their core players and are seeking to make another deep playoff run. Prior to Episcopal, Coach Walker coached the boys’ basketball team at Mill Creek Academy, where the Mustangs had back-to-back winning seasons and finished runner-up in the conference championship. He played at Providence School where he was a part of two state championship winning teams. During his high school career he never lost a home game and accumulated a 117-10 record, winning four consecutive district championships as well as four consecutive regional championships. He is Providence’s all-time leading rebounder, third leading scorer, second leading shot blocker, and was named the 2015 Florida Times-Union player of the year. He played college basketball at Samford University where he led the Southern Conference in rebounds and double-doubles. He then transferred to North Carolina State where he started for the Wolfpack for the 2019 season and was named to the 2018-2019 All ACC-Academic Team. Coach Walker was selected 25th overall in the 2019 NBA G League draft and played the 2019 season for the Utah Jazz’s G league team, the Salt Lake City Stars. Jake Nannen is the Head Varsity Girls Basketball Coach at Elkhorn South High School, competing in Nebraska’s largest classification (Class A). In the beginning of his sixth season as a head coach, Nannen owns a 70–53 overall record, with a proven track record of building fast paced offenses. Since taking over at Elkhorn South in 2023, Nannen has led one of the most statistically improved teams in school history. During his first season, the Storm set multiple offensive school records, including 222 made three-pointers (Top 10 Class A History), 17 made 3s in a game (Top 5 Class A History), earned the most wins since 2019–20, and saw major gains in scoring (3rd most PPG in school history), ball movement, and efficiency. His impact earned him recognition as a Top 5 finalist for the Omaha Metro MBCA Class A Coach of the Year.

    Episode 377: Coach John Ford- Head Football Coach at Effingham HS in Springfield, GA

    🏈 Coaching Journey & Achievements Coach Ford was hired by Effingham County High School in January 2021 to lead the Rebels football program. Before joining ECHS, he served as defensive coordinator at Bleckley County High School for two seasons. His head coaching résumé includes successful stints at Roswell High School and Buford High School, where he compiled a 61–17 record over six seasons. At Roswell (2013–2016), his teams went 40–12 and reached the GHSA Class AAAAAAA state championship twice. At Buford (2017–2018), he led the Wolves to the state semifinals and quarterfinals. 🌟 Coaching Philosophy Ford emphasizes adaptability, saying his offensive and defensive schemes are built around what his players can do—not forcing a system on them. He’s passionate about building team chemistry and culture, focusing on effort, resilience, and execution.
