Ep: 353 Why You Care What People Think (It's Your Witch Wound) | Part 1

See what we're up to and get more resources at https://thesistersenchanted.com/ . Q: What is the witch wound?A: The witch wound is a pattern of internalized fear rooted in centuries of societal conditioning that taught women (particularly sensitive, empathic, and intuitive women) to stay small, compliant, and invisible in order to remain safe. It shows up as fear of being seen, rejected, or judged, and it drives behaviors like people-pleasing, overthinking communication, and hiding your authentic self.Q: Why do I care so much what other people think?A: Caring what others think is often a response rooted in the witch wound - a deep, often ancestral fear of rejection and social exclusion. When your nervous system learned that being "too much" or "different" wasn't safe, it began suppressing your authentic self as a protection strategy. Q: What is intentional invisibility?A: Intentional invisibility is one of the most common witch wound patterns. It looks like downplaying your gifts, apologizing before you need to, staying quiet when you want to speak up, hiding your spiritual practices, or holding back from expressing who you truly are...all in an effort to avoid judgment and remain emotionally safe.Q: How do I stop caring what other people think?A: The first step isn't willpower, it's awareness. Recognizing that the fear of what others think is rooted in the witch wound (not truth) is what begins to loosen its grip. When you understand that your need to be perceived a certain way is a fear-based survival pattern, you can start addressing the root instead of just managing the symptom.✨ Why do you replay conversations at night? Why do you check someone's Instagram just to see if they're still alive or just mad at you? That is not anxiety or overthinking. That is your witch wound in action. In this episode (Part 1 of a two-part series) Sara Walka, I, break down one of the seven most common witch wound patterns I've seen across ten years of working with witchy women: intentional invisibility.-If you've ever downplayed your magic to make someone else comfortable...-If you've apologized before you even had a reason to...-If you've hidden your rituals, your tarot cards, your morning altar, or the real version of yourself from the people in your life...This is for you.In this episode, you'll explore:🕯️ What the witch wound is and why it runs so deep in highly sensitive, empathic women🌑 The #1 witch wound pattern I hear from her community: intentional invisibility💬 Why you overthink every message you send (and obsessively wait for the response)🔥 The real cost of staying invisible and why it isn't safety, it's shrinkage🌀 How caring what others think keeps you energetically drained and spiritually stuck🌿 The difference between fear-based safety and self-love-based safety⚡ What it looks like to start caring a little less about what they think and a lot more about healing the wound underneathThis is a two-part series. Part 2 drops June 25 🌙

Ep 352: Why Women Stop Participating in Life And How to Feel Alive Again | Good Witch Bad Bitch Summer 2026

Make your summer a Good Witch, Bad Bitch summer: https://signup.thesistersenchanted.com/gwbbsummer2026✨Why do so many women hesitate to participate in life? Often it's not the body holding them back, it's an unregulated nervous system and old stories about being embarrassed, "too old," or looking foolish. The fix isn't more confidence first; it's self-coaching and energy work that let you create the experience you want instead of just reacting to the one in front of you.I watched a room full of grown adults refuse to get on the trampolines at my kids' birthday party. Grippy socks and all, they sat on the sidelines while the go-karts and laser tag and foam pits sat right there, waiting. And it reminded me exactly what Good Witch Bad Bitch Summer is for. This is your year-three update: how my summer's actually going, where I'm winning, where I'm losing the plot, and how to get yours moving if you've been parked on the couch with your phone. The Good Witch is your foundation: whole foods, 10,000 steps, reading with your kids, living in line with your values. The Bad Bitch is the aliveness: the sky rail, the water slides, the hula hoop you're "too old" for. You need both and the bridge between them is Self-coaching. Your mindset, your nervous system, your words, your chakras, your chart...that's not separate from your witchery. That IS your witchery. A witch is a Woman In Total Control of Herself. She doesn't wait for confidence to show up, she creates it. So what's the worst that could happen if you stop hesitating? You fall in the foam pit and someone hands you out. You tweak your back and meet your heating pad. Or, you feel like a bad bitch because you didn't let your one wild life pass you by.In this episode:• Why hesitation is a nervous system pattern, not a personality trait• The Good Witch / Bad Bitch framework and why you need both• How self-coaching is energy work (and the witchiest thing you can do)• "What's the worst that could happen?" as a self-trust practice• Building foundations now so September doesn't flatten you (womp, womp)

Ep 351 What Really Happens When You Tell People You're a Witch (The 3 People You'll Meet)

Check out the Enchanted Journey membership (going strong since 2017!): https://signup.thesistersenchanted.com/ejmembership_april2026What happens when you tell people you're a witch? You'll typically meet three kinds of people: naysayers, neutrals, and new BFFs! Naysayers react with judgment no matter what you say. Neutrals (the largest group) simply acknowledge it and move on. New BFFs light up and want in. Most people land in "neutral," and learning to expect all three makes coming out as a witch far less scary. How do I tell my family I'm a witch?Lead with low stakes and let go of the outcome. Most family members are "neutrals" meaning they won't celebrate it, but they won't condemn it either. You can stay connected to people who believe differently without needing them to agree. Save your deeper conversations for the people who show genuine curiosity, and find your true witchy community elsewhere if your family isn't it.Why do people react more strongly to "tarot" or "witch" than to "astrology"?Astrology has been normalized for decades through newspaper horoscopes and pop culture, so it feels familiar and safe. The words "witch" and "tarot" still carry old cultural fear and religious baggage, so they tend to raise eyebrows. The reaction usually says more about a person's limited exposure than about you. What is the "broom closet"?Being "in the broom closet" means keeping your witchcraft, tarot, or spiritual practice private to avoid judgment from family, friends, or community. Coming out of the broom closet is choosing to be open about your practice and it tends to bring naysayers, neutrals, and unexpected new friends out of the woodwork. How do I find witchy friends if no one around me gets it?Look online. Many of the deepest witchy friendships happen across distance through communities, memberships, and shared rituals, especially for women in places where local spiritual community is scarce. The people in your life don't have to check every box; you're allowed to find your people somewhere else.In this episode, I break down the three kinds of people you'll meet on your journey as you come out of the broom closet: the naysayers, the neutrals, and the new BFFs. After ten years of being a witch out loud (and hearing from thousands of women in our community), I've got the map for who you'll run into, why people react the way they do, and how to handle each one without losing your peace or your people. We're recording this in Gemini season, the part of the year that rules language, communication, and the circles we move through and with Uranus now in Gemini, the whole sky is nudging us toward telling the truth about who we are. So if you've been holding your magic quiet, this one just might be a sign! You'll learn why "witch" and "tarot" rattle people more than "astrology" ever does, why most folks are far more neutral than your fear predicts, and how to spot the unexpected friend who's been waiting for someone exactly like you.The people in your life don't have to check every box. You get to find your people and they might come from the most surprising places.

Ep 350 What It's Like Being a Witch Married to a Non-Witchy Man

What is it like being a witch married to a non-witchy partner? It means you're often the only one in the relationship working with energy, self-awareness, and spiritual practice, which can feel like a lot rests on you. But a partner doesn't have to share your beliefs to support your path. Sometimes the deepest support is simply not getting in your way.Does my partner have to be into witchcraft for the relationship to work? No. Shared interests aren't a requirement for a strong relationship. What matters is mutual freedom and giving each other space to be fully yourselves without trying to make the other person into a copy of you. What does "support" really mean in a relationship? We tend to assume support looks like active interest - asking questions, showing up, or getting involved. But support can also be quiet. For example, not interfering, not judging, and letting your partner be exactly who they are. For many witchy women, that freedom is the support. Why do so many women hide their spirituality from their partners?Fear of not being understood. An estimated 30–50% of women in spiritual communities never even mention their witchy interests to their partner. They're holding it close out of fear it won't be received well. Knowing you're not alone in this is the first step toward being seen!✨✨✨✨Ever wondered what it's actually like to be a loud-and-proud witch married to a guy who couldn't care less about tarot, astrology, or the moon?In this off-the-cuff episode, Sara pulls back the curtain on her own marriage - 20+ years with a "normal" (read: non-witchy) man - and reframes one of the most loaded words in any relationship: support. When people meet Sara, they assume her husband must be "so supportive." And he is! But not in the way you'd think. He doesn't read cards or ask about rising signs. He supports her by getting out of her way and letting her be fully, unapologetically herself. If you've ever held your spiritual self close because you were afraid your partner wouldn't get it, this one's for you!🌙 In this episode:→ Why "supportive" doesn't have to mean "interested"→ The surprising stat about how many spiritual women hide their practice from their partner→ What it really means to be a witch (hint: it's less about the spells, more about the energy)→ How to stay grounded in your identity when the person closest to you doesn't share your beliefs→ Why giving each other the freedom to be different can be the most magical thing of allThis isn't about converting your partner to the weird side, y'all. It's about self-trust, energetic boundaries, and knowing that you can be deeply you even in a relationship where your worlds don't fully overlap.✨ KEY TAKEAWAYS🕯️ Support doesn't always look like interest - sometimes it looks like freedom.🌗 You can be the only "energy worker" in the relationship and still feel supported.🔮 Being a witch is less about practices and more about how you move energy through your life.💫 You don't have to burn your life down (or convert your partner) to live as your magical self.🤍 Self-trust is the key! When you're unshakable in who you are, it doesn't matter who does or doesn't understand you.💌 LET'S STAY CONNECTEDLooking for your people? Ep 349 Are You Procrastinating, or Just Out of Alignment?

Why do I keep procrastinating? Procrastination usually comes from one of three places: the task isn't actually aligned with who you are or where you're going, you're afraid of being visible (the witch wound), or you don't fully trust yourself to follow through. Most "procrastination" is really a way of protecting yourself from feeling bad. Is procrastination a character flaw? No. Procrastination is a safety mechanism. You're not a person who procrastinates - you're a person who keeps yourself from feeling uncomfortable. Naming the real cause underneath it is what actually creates movement. What is the witch wound and how does it cause procrastination? The witch wound is the inherited fear of being seen, being different, or being "too much" rooted in ancestral and historical danger around women's power. It shows up as visibility anxiety: you stall on the thing you want because some part of you fears rejection from your peers or family for stepping out of line. ☀️🌙☀️🌙☀️🌙☀️🌙 Welcome back! I'm Sara, founder of The Sisters Enchanted and today we're talking about the identity so many of you have claimed: the professional procrastinator. Here's my hot take: I don't think you're actually a procrastinator. After ten years working with women here at TSE (and years before that coaching kids and adults on executive function) I've learned that procrastination almost always comes from one of three places. And once you know which one is running the show, you stop white-knuckling your way through guilt and start moving with clarity instead. As we head toward summer 2026 and all that "live while the living's good" energy, this is the conversation to have. Because the thing you keep not-doing? It's trying to tell you something. In this episode: ☀️🌙The three real roots of procrastination for busy, witchy, midlife (and midlife-adjacent) women ☀️🌙The alignment check I use every week inside the Enchanted Journey and why "not doing the thing" sometimes means you're making a good decision, not procrastinating ☀️🌙How the witch wound turns visibility into danger, and why your body treats rejection like a threat ☀️🌙The self-trust question almost no one asks themselves and where it hides ☀️🌙Why scrolling, binge-reading, and five hours of Netflix feel so good when you're avoiding something ☀️🌙The reframe that takes you from "I'm someone who procrastinates" to "I'm someone who keeps herself safe and now I get to choose differently" Come deeper into the magic: 🔮 The Enchanted Journey Membership : This is where we do the weekly alignment checks, moon co-witching, and the real self-trust work together. Ep 348 Good Witch, Bad Bitch Summer 2026: Make It One To Remember

It's that time again, Enchanted Sisters! Good Witch Bad Bitch Summer is BACK for year three, and this is your official invitation to make summer 2026 one you'll actually remember. In this episode, I'm walking you through what Good Witch Bad Bitch Summer is, how it started (spoiler: it began with a t-shirt for Team TSE), and how YOU can participate this year...completely free. Here's the deal: so many of us, especially in midlife, get stuck on the river bank instead of jumping in to swim. You know that feeling - like a gymnast whose body suddenly freezes mid-routine. We forget we can trust ourselves and that we've done hard things before. We forget we can fly. Good Witch Bad Bitch Summer is the practice of running off the bank and jumping into the water anyway. We're calling in TWO energies this summer:🌿 The Good Witch: your inner nurturer. The one who tends to your self-care, your boundaries, your sense of peace. The one who knows you deserve to be supported, not just busy.🔥 The Bad Bitch: your inner audacious one. The woman who wears the bathing suit, orders the restaurant special and finally does the thing she's been thinking about for years. Together? That's the medicine of the season, y'all.🌙 What You'll Find in This Episode:-The origin story of Good Witch Bad Bitch Summer (it involves t-shirts and a community that wanted in)-Why getting "stuck on the bank" is so common in midlife and how to move through it-The 4 pillars of self-care framework (spiritual, physical, practical, relational) and how to use them this summer-Sara's own Good Witch Bad Bitch list for 2026 including the paddle board trailer situation she STILL hasn't tackled-How to use printable calendars to actually make your summer plans happen-A peek at what's coming up inside the Enchanted Journey membership this summer: psychic skills, tapping, Witching 101, and an August Courage & Becoming series featuring creative writing and mythology as ritualGrab your Good Witch, Bad Bitch Summer pdf here: https://signup.thesistersenchanted.com/gwbbsummer2026Join us in Enchanted Journey here: https://signup.thesistersenchanted.com/ejmembership_april2026

Ep 347 How to Use a Pendulum in Daily Life (Even When You're Busy)

What is a pendulum?A pendulum is a weighted object on a string or chain used as a divination tool to help you slow down, get present, and tune into your subconscious wisdom. It can be made from crystal, metal, wood, or even a bead tied to thread...anything weighted works. How does a pendulum work?A pendulum doesn't give you answers from outside yourself. It works by amplifying tiny, unconscious muscle movements in your hand (called the ideomotor effect) that respond to your body's inner knowing. The pendulum reflects what your nervous system already knows. How do you use a pendulum for the first time?Hold the chain steady with your elbow on a flat surface. Get quiet. Place your free hand on your heart or belly. Ask, "Show me a yes" and notice the direction it moves. Then ask, "Show me a no." Practice with low-stakes questions before asking anything important. What does it mean if my pendulum doesn't move?A still pendulum usually means you don't have enough information yet, your body isn't attuned to the question, or you need to ask differently. It's not a "no" necessarily, it's a sign to pause and reapproach. Can you use a pendulum without buying one?Yes. A pendulum can be a necklace you already wear, a bead tied to embroidery thread, or any small weighted object on a string. The tool isn't magic, your presence is.Is using a pendulum "real"?Whether you view it as spiritual or psychological, the pendulum works because it slows you down enough to hear your own inner wisdom. That's the real magic, not the object, but the moment of presence it creates.IN THIS EPISODE:How do you keep a witchy practice alive when life is full and time is short? In this episode of the Stay Magic Podcast, Sara Walka shares one of her favorite tools for everyday magic (the pendulum) and how to actually use it in the middle of real life.If you've ever picked up a pendulum and wondered, "Am I doing this right? Is it really telling me anything?" ...this episode is your permission slip to stop overthinking and start trusting.Sara breaks down what a pendulum really is (and isn't), why it works, and how to use it in tiny, discreet moments throughout your day at the kitchen table, in your car, before a hard conversation, or in line at the school pickup. No big rituals required. Just you, a weighted object, and a moment of presence. This is witchcraft for women who are stretched thin- the busy working witch, the caregiver, the homeschooling mom, the woman juggling aging parents and her own becoming. Because being a witch isn't about doing all the things. It's about harnessing your energy, trusting your inner knowing, and remembering that the tool is just an extension of you.🌙 In this episode, you'll learn:--What a pendulum actually is (and what counts as one)--How to "program" your pendulum for yes/no answers--Why your pendulum might not be moving and what that really means--How to use a pendulum discreetly in your daily life--The biggest misconception about pendulums (and how to release it)--Why being a witch doesn't require any tools at all--How pendulum work can regulate your nervous system🕯 Connect with Sara + The Sisters Enchanted:Website: https://thesistersenchanted.comInstagram: @the_sisters_enchantedYouTube: youtube.com/thesistersenchantedPodcast: Stay Magic Podcast on Spotify + Apple

Ep 346: Why Being the "Weird One" Is Your Witchy Superpower (Uranus in Gemini Energy)

Q: How do you stop hiding your spiritual or witchy interests?Stop trying to be validated. Owning your weird isn't about converting anyone or over-explaining your path, it's about allowing yourself to be unconditionally loved as you are, starting with yourself. When you stop fighting upriver against other people's discomfort, your weirdness stops being a liability and becomes the foundation other women borrow when they're ready to step into their own.In today's episode, I'm talking about something every witchy woman knows in her bones...that flickering moment when your friends, family, or coworkers realize you're "into that stuff" and suddenly the lights start flashing: the weirdo has entered the chat. 🔮With Uranus in Gemini stirring up perspective shifts and a Scorpio Full Moon on the horizon, this is the cosmic moment to stop downplaying your weird and start recognizing it for what it really is: your superpower. If you're the witchy woman who feels like the odd one out in your life, you're also probably the most creative, the most empathetic, the most resourceful, and the best damn critical thinker in the room. And those skills are exactly what the world needs in 2026.This episode is for the woman who's been:🔮 Hiding her tarot deck when family comes over🔮 Apologizing for her interest in astrology🔮 Wondering if she's the only one who feels this way🔮 Ready to stop shrinking and start owning her magic🌙 What we cover in this episode:🔮 The real cost of trying to fit in when you were never meant to🔮 3 hidden strengths of being the "weird one" (and why they translate to leadership)🔮 Why Uranus in Gemini is asking you to embrace your weird right now🔮 How owning your weird becomes a foundation for other women's belonging🔮 Why community healing (not solitary hiding) is the path forward🔮 The connection between weirdness, creativity, and being able to read collective energy🌀 Ready to find your people? The Enchanted Journey Membership is where the witchy, the weird, and the wise are gathering to make magic in their everyday lives.
