Bastards of Boston Baseball (Red Sox)

As a diehard Red Sox fan since ‘86, I have listened to this podcast for several years. The rotating crew headed up by Terry Cushman, brings a smart fan’s perspective with realistic opinions on the state of the team. The only reason I can’t give five states is that they have one host that in my opinion is almost impossible to listen to. He brings a charts and grafts approach in the extreme, as if he’s making a presentation to his CFO or worse, and every “take” seems scripted and rehearsed. I skip the ones he’s involved with which is disappointing. Otherwise it’s a solid effort. Go Sox

Stopped by after the Yankees Red Sox wild card series for a post mortem and it felt like I was listening to the worst sports radio callers of all time. As a neutral fan I can’t believe these are some of the prevalent talking heads of one of baseballs most prevalent franchises

As a diehard Red Sox fan, it’s maddening to hear a Sox podcast where the hosts can’t even pronounce Worcester right or figure out that the team celebration is a plane, not a bird despite all of the reporting about the team's recent turbulent plane ride. They rarely fact-check, constantly say ‘I don’t know if this is true, but…,’ and clearly do next-to-zero prep. On top of that, it’s nearly all negativity — are you even fans? I get wanting to be objective, but it’s more a place to complain than offer real insight. Honestly, it’s peak male podcast energy: just assume you can talk without doing the work and still expect to be respected. Real fans notice.
