    Tyler and Jeff interview Josh Ruben, Director of Scare Me and Werewolves Within as we discuss his new films, A Wounded Fawn and Blood Relatives, both available on Shudder. Josh stars in A Wounded Fawn as serial killer Bruce, and Producer on the Noah Segan-directed, vampire horror/comedy Blood Relatives.     The Time Travel Episode

    On what was supposed to be our episode for May, we are talking about time travel and its utilization within movies and pop culture. We dive deeper into Edge of Tomorrow, Timecrimes, and Coherence (which is totally a time travel movie, I don't want to hear it). Please consider donating to a local trans organization, as there is more and more widespread transphobia in every part of our country.     The Jackie Chan Episode

    On this episode, we talk about Jackie Chan, his influence on the action movie landscape, and the journey his work has taken across the decades of his career. The movies we picked for the episode are The Foreigner, Rush Hour, and Police Story. A quick note: This episode was recorded prior to the release of the SCOTUS opinion on Roe v Wade, so that is not reflected in the beginning of the episode when we discuss charitable giving.

    The Raimi Episode

    Some housekeeping first: There are some audio issues in this episode, so bear with us. The issues begin at 25:38, and occur intermittently through 52:54. I would recommend staying aware of your volume during that stretch. On this month's episode, we talk about the work of Sam Raimi! The episode includes his history, filmography, and hallmarks of his work, as well as a deeper dive into Evil Dead 2, Darkman, and Spider-Man 2.

    The Heist Episode

    We are back with a new format and focus, but everything else is, well, it's pretty much the same. This month, we talk about the heist genre, what makes a heist movie, and three different movies that we bring to the table as examples of the sub-genre. The movie selections for this episode are Lupin III: The Castle of Cagliostro, The Killing, and Fast Five.     2021 In Review

    Hi all, we're back! We get together to break down what we thought of the films of 2021 across a variety of categories. Going forward, we are moving to a monthly release schedule with a new episode on the third Thursday of every month. In these episodes, we'll cover different subjects such as certain sub-genres, the works of specific directors, movies that address certain topics or concepts, and anything else we think fits.
