    What does Anthropic's IPO filing say about AI risk? About 100 pages of it, and some of it is about the end of humanity. Russell reads the risk factors from a business owner's chair. First, what a risk factor is: a legal disclosure, written by lawyers to protect the company. Then why this one is unusual. Most companies warn about interest rates and regulation. This one warns about its own product. The filing names four triggers for catastrophic risk: misuse, copying, weapons, and too much autonomy. It describes self-preserving behavior seen in testing, and models acting differently when they know they're being evaluated. Every one of those sentences turns on the word "if." If there are safeguards. If there's oversight. That's a leadership question.
