I am absolutely thrilled that I found this podcast, because boy is it a treat! I don’t really know anyone else who’s into Tolkien at least enough to talk about it in depth like this, so it’s fantastic to sit back and listen and learn super awesome information about the books. The drafting processes for the chapters, the quotes from Tolkien scholars, Patrick and Clifford’s analyses of the characters and settings, diving into philology, expanding on all those great Silmarillion references- it’s such a privilege to listen to people geek out over the stuff I geek out over! Because of this podcast I’m actually getting into maybe studying language, something I had never considered until I listened to your philology special and realized how awesome words really are!
