SEASON TWO: The Return Of HeroPress (announcement)

With Blogger mucking around - and in my opinion totally messing up - with their interface, it looks as the days of fresh, written, content on my beloved, 14-year-old HEROPRESS blog are coming to an end. I took a look at Wordpress and very quickly came to the conclusion that maybe restarting my podcast would better scratch my blogging itch. Let's wait and see!

    Episode Five: Hither Came Conan...

This episode gives a very brief critique of the three main Conan titles being published by Marvel these days: Conan The Barbarian, Savage Sword Of Conan, and Age Of Conan, as well as mentioning Savage Avengers, which debuts today, that brings Robert E Howard's Cimmerian into the modern Marvel world! You can find articles - reviews & promos etc - I've published on this character, and related ones, under the Conan tag on HeroPress:  https://heropresstwo.blogspot.com/search/label/Conan You can find Marvel's own articles about their take on Conan here:  https://www.marvel.com/search?limit=20&query=Conan

Episode Four: New Name, More Game

My longest, script-free, podcast to date. Bit rambly, bit unsteady, lot of 'umming' etc but it has some gaming content, so I'm pleased with it. I'd love to hear what others think, so please send me a message via Anchor, emails via acrobatic.flea@gmail.com, rate, review etc The Kickstarters I reference in this episode are: Maximum Mayhem Dungeons #6: Moving Maze of the Mad Master -  https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/marktaormino/maximum-mayhem-dungeons-6-moving-maze-of-the-mad-m# Satanic Panic 'Old School' 28mm Multi-Part Great Gnolls -  https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/satanicpanic/satanic-panic-old-school-28mm-multi-part-great-gno? Mountain Troll and Chaos Dwarves -  https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/550360615/mountain-troll-and-chaos-dwarves?  Write-ups of our current 5e Dungeons & Dragons campaign can be found here:  https://heropresstwo.blogspot.com/p/simons-5e-dungeons-dragons-campaign.html

Episode Two: Hawk The Slayer Lives

Hawk The Slayer will live again as an audio drama. Coming to Kickstarter later this year. Read about it here https://heropresstwo.blogspot.com/2019/02/best-news-of-year-hawk-slayer-will-live.html

Episode Two: Hawk The Slayer Lives

  6. 12/11/2018

Episode One: Mortal Engines (a review)

In which I gush over the big screen adaptation of Philip Reeve's Mortal Engines, my favourite work of contemporary literature. Also featuring special guest commentary from my wife, Rachel.

  7. 12/10/2018

Episode 0.75: Doctor Who - The Battle of Ranskoor Av Kolos

My quick review of last night's Doctor Who season finale, The Battle of Ranskoor Av Kolos. Certainly one of the stronger episodes of a very uneven season. We also have a voicemail message from Ivy (aka The Happy Whisk).

  8. 12/04/2018

Episode 0.5 - Doctor Who: It Takes You Away

My rambling thoughts on this week's episode of Doctor Who. Sadly another disappointing story in a season of underwhelming outings. PLUS, my first voicemails!!! This is another "test" episode, with me experimenting with formats, production methods etc, but I hope you enjoy it nonetheless.

    HeroPress - episode zero

Mumbling first stab at recording an Anchor podcast. Is this the future?
