Nikole Hannah-Jones' Essay Didn't Explain The History of "School Choice", So I Have To

In light of the long, highly individualistic New York Times Magazine essay by Nicole Hannah-Jones about her regret over putting her child in public elementary and middle schools, the real history behind what we call "school choice" today was not explained. If it had been, the essay wouldn't have focused on the impact on just her daughter, or the silly idea of changing the entire foundationally unjust education system from the inside, one child at a time.  So let's talk about the history that explains what the author of The 1619 Project oddly did not, but certainly should have, if she weren't making this centuries-long, continued, and intentional injustice all about her choices and the impacts on her child alone. Either we are going to fight for ALL our children to be treated equally and live free, or we're going to continue pretending to be rugged individualistic capitalists with none of the actual power to change anything about our exploitative conditions. Talking Points Ep. 2: When A Coincidence Isn't One

Well of course this story has gotten weirder.  First, sadly the death toll of this attack in New Orleans is now 15 people, with 30 injured. But some things aren’t adding up, and then there are other things that have been added, so you know…I have questions. Like on Wednesday, the media was reporting that the FBI claimed that a black foreign terrorist organization’s flag was found in the truck that Jabbar drove through the crowd. Yesterday I called it an ISIS flag because I did see it described as such in a few reports. But I thought then, where would he have acquired such a flag? Do you order that from Amazon? Walmart? TerroristFlagsOutlet.com (there is no such website…I don’t think)? And then I was also thinking as I was reading the initial news accounts of the New Orleans attack that as horrible as this is, parts of this sound like the Newburg 4 case. I talked about this case two years ago when 3 of the 4 defendants in the case were released from prison. There is more that has me asking questions. Listen in to find out! Talking Points Ep. 1: Don’t Look At New Orleans In A Vacuum

What Do The Chickens Bring Back With Them When They Come Home To Roost? Don’t Look At New Orleans In A Vacuum  The FBI is investigating the attack as an act of terrorism and said it does not believe the driver acted alone. An Islamic State group flag was found on the vehicle’s trailer hitch, the FBI said. There is much to learn still from the early morning New Year’s Day vehicular attack on a crowded Bourbon Street in New Orleans this first day of 2025. Although details are still being released, what has been shared seems to suggest that we enter this new year faced with an old international/foreign policy problem. I think this is fitting, considering the catastrophe and chaos that the US government has continued to perpetuate in the Middle East. And I believe this is one of those moments that we should remember where we were when it happened. You can find the video or article for this episode and more on Patreon, Substack, and YouTube.

The Duplicitous Legacy Of Bipartisan Compromise Obscured From The History Of Juneteenth

Never let the corporations and US politicians truncate the history of Juneteenth, and the enduring legacy of bipartisan "compromise" on our human rights that yanked away the freedom we fought for. You can find the video or article for this episode and more on Patreon, Substack, and YouTube.

We Can Defeat The Anti-Trans Bigots By Out-Organizing Them

We can absolutely defeat the anti-trans bigots who are mad that transgender people drink their crummy beer (there are better beers out there, trans friends, you're better than Bud Light), conservative organizations trying to put trans youth and people back in the closet in public schools, and liberals who are all too willing to compromise with the people who want to take away the human rights of people who are not like them! We have to OUT-ORGANIZE ALL THESE PEOPLE, AND WE CAN DO IT! Because when trans lives are under attack, what do we do? STAND UP, FIGHT BACK!! Biden's Document Dilemma Grows, And So Should The Scrutiny Around It

Well, well, well the plot thickens!!! As MORE classified documents are found in Biden's possession, explain to me how this is different from what Trump did in any way except volume? I smell Democratic hypocrisy... You can find the video or article for this episode and more on Patreon, Substack, and YouTube.

Biden's Document Scandal Could Be Even Bigger Than Trump's

The discovery of classified White House documents in Joe Biden's civilian post-administration office could cause a stink for him, especially if those documents contain evidence of US imperialistic plans for regime change in Iran, Ukraine, and collusion with the UK to persecute Julian Assange. There is definitely something there here... You can find the video or article for this episode and more on Patreon, Substack, and YouTube.

The GOP Shows Up Progressives Again

The saga of the empty Speaker's chair is over for the GOP-controlled House of Representatives. But lessons abound for the so-called Progressive Caucus, the Congressional Black Caucus, and every alleged "progressive" in the Democratic Party. The GOP just showed up Progressives on what should be done with power once you have it, if Progressives really wanted to win anything for the people. But of course, they won't listen and learn because they were never in it to give power to the people. They were always in it for themselves.
