Interesting podcast, but BOY, did you guys get a lot of information wrong when it came to reviewing this film. First of all, it was not director Carol Reed’s daughter who dubbed Mark Lester’s voice in OLIVER!. It was composer and arranger John Greens daughter Kathe Green who dubbed Lesters voice. She was in her teens at the time. Many British children have high soprano voices. Not unusual. If not for the 20th Anniversary Tribute to the film at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences this information would most likely never have gotten out. The dubbing is that good. The character of Bill Sikes takes Oliver on his night of stealing because he’s out to corrupt him. Part of why Bill wants Oliver back is Oliver has been given the kind of life that he never had. The character of Fagin is definitely a leading man’s role. The song WHERE IS LOVE is beautifully filmed and sang. Mark Lester was great at lip synching. I could go on, but as podcasts go, I enjoyed it. Difficult to hear people get information wrong, i.e, Nancy does walk off with Bill after IT’S A FINE LIFE, etc
