    198: Princess Diana's brother tells almost all, Duchess Meghan seems happy in England

    Introduction: Minutes 0 to 7:00 We both watched The Death of the Pastor's Wife on Netflix. It was hard to take but was a good docuseries and we're hoping for justice for Mica. Her friends impressed us the most. Royals: Minutes 7:00 to 24:30 The biggest news this week has come out of Charles Spencer's book Swan Song: Diana My Sister. One of the first stories that broke was about then-Prince Charles' alleged affair with his valet. When Diana told her brother that she was getting a divorce, she said "my husband is in love with his valet." She didn't name the valet although it's widely assumed to be Michael Fawcett. Fawcett is the longterm staffer who left after taking the blame for the cash for access scandal in 2021, when he was in charge of Charles' foundation. In October, 2025, it came out that Charles had met with Fawcett earlier that year. The palace's statement about that meeting was suspicious. We also heard how awful Prince Charles was after Princess Diana died. Charles Spencer said that when Prince Charles called him right after Diana died he sounded giddily elated. A few days later Prince Charles got into a fight with Charles Spencer over whether Harry and William should walk behind the casket. Prince Charles seethed, "rest assured, we'll forget her soon enough." That was the impetous for Charles Spencer's famous eulogy for his sister. Charles Spencer was right. We're still talking about Diana 29 years after her death. As Chandra mentions, part of that is due to how Charles tries to gatekeep Diana's story.  At the 1992 funeral for Charles Spencer and Diana's father, John Spencer, Prince Charles told Charles Spencer that he was lucky to inherit so young! Prince Charles also bitched about people treating him like a child at 43. Incidentally, William seemingly hasn't said anything about this book and he hasn't issued a statement. I play segments from Charles Spencer's Lorraine Kelly interview. I was so impressed with how classy and unbothered the Earl Spencer is. The Spencer family are powerful old school aristocrats going back hundreds of years.  As Charles Spencer mentioned in his interview, the statement from King Charles on the book, essentially "recollections may vary," never denied that King Charles said those things. The palace issued that statement so early that Charles Spencer had the opportunity to respond to it during his promotional interviews. Even hardened royalists think King Charles' statement was misguided. Prince Harry went to the annual gala in London for Well Child, his longterm patronage. He also went to New York, where he gave a speech at the Clinton Global Initiative. Meghan was photographed out at a pub with Ellen Degeneres and Portia de Rossi earlier this week in the Cotswolds where they all live. Her friend Kelly Zajfen also visited her in England and posted photos. She seems happy in England. As counter-programming William and Kate went to Rothesy, Scotland late last week and they attended the premiere of Digger in London this week. They need to stop scheduling events to compete with Harry. We're hearing that Prince Harry is considering projects around Diana's death next year and that he could make a documentary.     197: Harry and Meghan still haven't issued an official statement about their move

    Introduction: Minutes 0 to 6:00 I've been watching Lanterns and it's decent. I saw Wicker Man and don't recommend it. The movie Buddy is awesome if you like horror. Chandra has been watching Ted Lasso but the tone is off this season. She's watching the US Open. When we recorded, it was before the first time that two Black men competed in a Grand Slam semi-final. Ben Shelton and Frances Tiafoe have since played their semi-final, with Shelton winning. Only two Black men in history have made a Grand Slam final, Arthur Ashe and Yannick Noah. Here's a link to the story about Frances Tiafoe's background. Royals: Minutes 6:00 to 25:00 The last time we recorded was right after the Sussexes announced they were moving to England. They moved to somewhere in the Cotswolds about two weeks ago and their kids are in private school. We still don't know why they moved, although there are theories it's due to the July, 2027 Invictus games in Birmingham and/or that Harry wants his children to have a British education.  The biggest news this week is the letter that the Lord Chamberlain put out on King Charles' behalf about the Sussexes move back to England. They only shared segments with the press. They wrote, in part, that the Sussexes are private citizens and are not working royals. Their security will be the responsibility of the relevant police agencies. This was a reiteration of the Sandringham agreement, which Meghan never signed. She wasn't included in the summit about that. A Sussex spokesperson spoke on the record to People Magazine to say that they were surprised by this letter. A source said that they think the timing was due to a security decision about to be made by Ravec.  Buckingham palace denied that security had anything to do with it.  Harry went on the record last year when his security was denied to say that this was his father's decision. As Chandra has been writing, Harry is trying to force the moment to its crisis. We don't think it will work.  The royals have schemed to steal Invictus from Harry for years. We wish that Harry would make a statement about why he's in the UK and if it's for Invictus. We hope the Sussexes have good private security.  We read a quote from Chandra's story on the Sussexes' statement to the Telegraph about King Charles' letter. We're surprised that they're surprised. Chandra thinks Harry did this on his own without assurances of security.  Rob Shuter reported that Prince William was behind that letter. Chandra thinks the letter was issued to placate William.  I wonder why William wasn't mad that the letter came out on the day that George first went to Eton. The letter served William's interests so we assume he was happy about it.  A Ugandan general who is the son of the Ugandan president announced on Twitter that Uganda would no longer participate in Invictus. They only just joined in July. It's unclear whether he has the authority to do that, although outlets are reporting he does. A source close to Harry told ITV that this was a result of the Lord Chamberlain's letter.  I play a segment from Zoom where we talked about Harry and Meghan's move.     196: Duchess Meghan and Prince Harry are moving back to the UK!

    Royals: Minutes 0 to 27:45 We skipped the introduction this week due to the breaking news about the Sussexes moving to the UK. Harry and Meghan are moving to England "for an extended period beginning this month" and have enrolled Archie and Lili in school there. They're not going to be returning to royal duties at all. We wonder what is driving their decision. This could be a tax or immigration issue for Harry. We've also heard that Charles may be sicker than we know. Sources are saying that Harry and Meghan only decided in early August to move, which doesn't sound likely to us. We also wonder whether they told Charles about their plans when they visited him in July. Reports claim that Charles didn't learn about it until Sunday. The British press had some advance stories about Harry and Meghan returning to the UK but they put such a messed up spin on it that it was hard to believe them. The Windsors have wanted Harry and Meghan to come back to the UK, but only if they could control them. They're returning in a position of power as global superstars. In People Magazine's coverage they mentioned that Harry and Meghan are on Trump's radar and that "with the midterm elections fast approaching, concerns about the direction of the U.S. loom large for many." Harry may fear that his immigration status will become an issue if he stays in the US. We're worried about the kids. We wonder what the school is going to be like, and whether the kids are going to be targeted by the press and paparazzi. I play a segment from Zoom where we talked about this. There's another segment on our YouTube shorts this week with our Zoom group's first reaction to the news. They heard about it while they were on Zoom.  Harry and Meghan are making an informed decision. We don't know them and we don't live their lives.     195: Duchess Meghan and Prince Harry are in the UK

    Introduction: Minutes 0 to 5:30 I saw Backrooms, Masters of the Universe and Disclosure Day. Chandra saw The Drama and thought it was overrated. She also finished the show The Other Bennet Sister. Royals: Minutes 5:30 to 16:30 Prince Harry and his co-plaintiffs, including Elizabeth Hurley and Sir Elton John, lost their case against Associated Newspapers for hacking. The suit was filed in 2022 and alleges that The Daily Mail wiretapped, bugged and used illegal methods to get information for stories. The judge in the case was a former barrister/lawyer who represented The Mirror, so he definitely had a conflict of interest. The judge didn't represent The Mirror at the same time that Harry sued them. Harry issued a scathing statement about the ruling. The timing of this ruling is dark Harry as visiting the UK now. It looks like Buckingham Palace, King Charles and RAVEC set Harry up. They've gone back and forth about whether Harry was offered a place to stay by Charles. They also denied him security, which he's been trying to get for years, because the investigation into whether he should be afforded security as a non-working royal was paused! This inquiry was paused in March, essentially denying Harry security, however they only told Harry after he confirmed the details of his trip. Meghan, Archie and Lili were originally scheduled to come with Harry, but given the lack of security we weren't sure they would come. News broke late Friday that they were in the UK and had met with Charles and Camilla. Harry has been so unbothered during his events in London. No one seemed to care but Charles posed in a tank earlier this week just as Harry was arriving. Kate only did one event this week and William's events have been lackluster. Chandra thinks there was a real turning point after Harry got such positive press for visiting the UK last year. Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's wedding: Minutes 16:30 to 24:30 There was a huge buildup to Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's 1,000-person wedding at Madison Square Garden. We still haven't seen photos. There weren't enough seats for everyone and Travis and Taylor's vows lasted 40 minutes total. The wedding favors were embroidered handkerchiefs.     194: Duchess Meghan and Prince Harry's Frogmore Cottage to be gutted

    Introduction: Minutes 0 to 6:40 I recommend the movies Obsession and I Love Boosters, both of which are in theaters. I also love Margot's Got Money Troubles. Chandra and I are watching Widows Bay and love it. Chandra is also watching The Other Bennet Sister and recommends Magpie Murders.  Royals: Minutes 6:40 to 22:30 The last time we talked was about a month ago, right after Harry and Meghan's successful trip to Australia. Harry had just arrived in Ukraine at that point. Since then, Meghan went to Geneva to help open the Lost Screen memorial, Kate had a successful trip to Italy and William saw Aston Villa play in Istanbul. Kate's trip was well received and she even spoke a little Italian. In a recent interview William admitted that he didn't know Kate spoke Italian. Will and Kate have a planned trip to India in November. There's a rumor that they'll be going to the US in July, but that has not been confirmed. William wants to come for the World Cup. Chandra does not think that Kate and the kids will join him. Harry and Meghan celebrated their eighth wedding anniversary last week. Meghan posted a little video of her kids singing happy anniversary and of the lemon elderflower cake and penguin sculpture Harry had custom made for her. Meghan explained the meaning of the penguins, because they wore penguin onesies at their engagement party since penguins are together for life. The press obsessed over that for days. Tom Sykes made fun of Meghan's traditional Italian kitchen, calling it a Taco Bell kitchen. It's a beautiful kitchen and that's ridiculous. It's thought that they haven't done renovations to their home, althought there are mixed reports about that. We heard that the Windsors are planning to renovate Frogmore Cottage. Meghan and Harry had it renovated in early 2019 before they moved in, so it's been extensively renovated and redecorated, and they even paid the cost back, at about £2.4 million pounds or $3.1 million dollars. A source told The Sun "It's been empty for three years… Maybe if they get rid of any trace of Harry and Meghan, then someone within the royal household will fancy it." They want to erase all taste of Harry and Meghan. The next big royals event we have coming up is Harriet Sperling and Peter Phillips' wedding, which is scheduled for Saturday June 6th. Peter is Princess Anne's son, he's 48, and Harriet is 45 and works as a pediatric nurse. I'm really looking forward to that wedding. The big storylines revolve around Peter snubbing Prince Harry by not inviting him, they also ">didn't invite Prince Andrew, and about whether Harriet will wear a tiara and if so will it be one of her future mother-in-law's tiaras. The stories about Peter Phillips' wedding are similar to the stories around Hugh Grosvenor's wedding.     193: Duchess Meghan and Prince Harry's wildly successful trip to Australia

    Introduction: Minutes (0) to 8:15 I just got back from a trip to Florida. I saw a bunch of herons eating fish out of a pond. We think bird watchers are cool. I watched The Housemaid and enjoyed it. Chandra didn't finish that. She watched the French Jodie Foster movie, A Private Life. She also read Belle Burden's Strangers and recommends it. Royals: Minutes (8:15) to 28:00 Harry and Meghan went to Australia for a four day trip from April 14th to the 18th. On Friday April 10th Prince Harry's former charity Sentable announced it was suing Prince Harry and one of the other trustees, Mark Dyer, for defamation and libel. Sophie Chandauka made a hostile takeover of Sentebale last year aided by Prince William's ally Ian Rawlinson. This lawsuit seems to be based on Harry's resignation from Sentebale as a patron. The timing was meant to steal headlines from Harry and Meghan's Australian tour and it only worked briefly. Harry and Meghan's trip to Australia was a massive success and they had huge crowds wherever they went. They went to Melbourne, where they visited a children's hospital and veteran's museum and went on the Scar Tree Walk, and to Sydney, where they had multiple events on Sydney Harbour and Bondi Beach and attended a rugby match. Harry gave a speech at the Australian War Memorial in Canberra and spoke at the InterEdge summit while Meghan taped a guest judge segment on Masterchef Australia and did a Q&A at the Her Best Life retreat. There were conflicting reports about what Harry and Meghan were paid, with some reports that they were taking nominal fees to cover their costs. During the Australian trip Meghan announced that she invested in a fashion discovery platform called OneOff and premiered an account with them. During this trip she kept her clothing on OneOff updated, with affiliate links. She wore a lot of Australian designers and of course they got a huge boost in sales. Women's Wear Daily estimates that Meghan's fashion in Australia drove over $51 million in media impact! They had quotes from some of the labels who said Meghan wearing their clothing drove hundreds of thousands in sales! The British press used Meghan's OneOff account to attack her. Chandra didn't even report on Tom Sykes' despicable take on it. I play a clip of Meghan talking to students at Swinburne University of Technology about how she's been attacked for 10 years and how she gets through it. The way Meghan was attacked for saying that proves her point. There was a story that Robert Irwin, who works with Prince William on EarthShot, declined to meet with the Sussexes. Irwin is an ally of Prince William and that story was very pro-William. We don't believe it but it turns out he was in the US during the Sussexes' visit anyway. We remember when William tried to claim that Jose Andres was his friend after Andres joined Earthshot's board. Andres posed with Harry in New York and appeared on With Love, Meghan after that. There was a clip of Meghan smiling at a staffer when the staffer put her hand on Harry's back. Someone edited it with AI to make it look like Meghan was glaring at the lady. Tom Sykes used it to recycle all the old lies about Meghan being a bad boss. The reason why there was so much outsized criticism of the Australian tour is because it's a Commonwealth realm. During this trip the Sussexes called out a few outlets, including the Australian Daily Mail, for publishing their itinerary during the embargo and putting their safety at risk. Harry made a surprise trip to Ukraine this week and made sure to limit press availability for his safety. This week was the late Queen Elizabeth's 100th birthday. The royals marked the occasion with a memorial and a dry reception. They released a photo of the left behinds and they it looked out of date, old and stale. The contrast between this photo and the optics of Harry and Meghan's trip were stark.     192: Duchess Meghan and Prince Harry's new spokesperson is excellent

    Introduction: Minutes 0 to 6:45 This awards season was long due to the Winter Olympics. We enjoyed it other than the BAFTAs. We're so glad Michael B. Jordan won Best Actor but are bummed that Sinners didn't win Best Picture. This awards season had a good vibe and the Oscars were entertaining. Chappell Roan: Minutes 6:45 to 24:00 The big story this week was about Chappell Roan's bodyguard harassing an 11-year-old girl and her mother at a hotel in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Ada Law is Jude Law's fifth child.  Her mother, Catherine Harding, and stepfather, football star Jorginho, are also famous. We reported it when Ada was born. We also remember when Jude had his fourth chilld with a one night stand, Samantha Burke. Brazilian soccer star Jorginho posted that one of Chappell Roan's bodyguards approached his wife Catherine Harding and daughter Ada at their hotel after Ada smiled at Chappell during breakfast.  Ada was in Sao Paulo to see Lollapalooza Brazil for her birthday, where Chappel was performing. All Ada did according to Jorginho and his wife was walk past Chappell's table and smile at her. The bodyguard then went up to Ada and her mom's table and told Catherine that she should teach her daughter not to harass other people. Catherine tried telling him that Ada was just a child and he continued berating them. I play an excerpt from Catherine's video explaining what happened. After Jorginho posted about this, but before Catherine's video came out, Chappell recorded a very low effort video where she's in bed half denying the story. She said the security guard was "not my personal security" and that she didn't see the girl. She also apologized at the end, but it was like it was an afterthought. Chappell's rep issued a statement basically reiterating what she said and claiming it was a third party security guard. The hotel issued a statement making it clear this was not their security guard. The bodyguard was IDed as a Pascal Duvier. He used to work for Kim Kardashian and got fired after she was robbed in Paris. Duvier issued a statement saying he wasn't part of Chappell's security team and that his interaction with the mother  was due to an increased security threat or something. Chappell has a reputation of being rude to fans, unlike other pop stars like Taylor Swift. I play a clip from Zoom where Lisa talked about this. We remember when Chappell was both sides-ing politics during the last election. Royals: Minutes 24:00 to 33:15 Last week Variety came out with an unhinged hit piece on Harry and Meghan with vague complaints about Meghan. Netflix and the Sussexes denied many of the false assertions in the story point by point. We wonder if the Sussexes should have issued a separate statement because their denials got buried. This week, Deadline got an exclusive that the Sussexes are producing a scripted polo series for Netflix. They're also working with other streaming platforms. We wish they would do more promotion for their shows, like the Polo documentary series. Harry and Meghan are going to visit Australia in mid April. Harry is going to be a keynote speaker at the InterEdge Psychosocial Safety Summit in Melbourne, which is April 15-16. Meghan is going to make an appearance at a women's retreat conference in Sydney which is on April 17-19. After that news came out there were predictable hit pieces about their trip. They're not doing this for money because they're taking nominal appearance fees. There's been a narrative that they're broke, but that's not true. There was a Change.org petition claiming that Australian taxpayers shouldn't have to pay for their security. Meghan and Harry's spokesperson hit back at that, saying "The trip is being funded privately, so I'm not sure what this petition hopes to achieve."     191: Duchess Meghan and Prince Harry's trip to Jordan criticized, Sinners wins best ensemble at the Actor Awards

    Introduction: Minutes 0 to 6:15 I've been watching The Pitt and Paradise. I also really like Best Medicine on Fox. Chandra loves Josh Charles and knows him from Sports Night and The Good Wife. Chandra follows tennis, and lot of tennis stars were stuck in Dubai after playing in the Indian Wells tournament and have had to go to extreme measures to get back to their home countries. Actor Awards: Minutes (6:15) to 12:45 On Sunday we had the Actor Awards, which is the new name for the Screen Actor's Guild Awards. At the SAGs Sinners took home Best Ensemble, which brings them a little closer to the Best Picture Oscar. This was also Ryan Coogler's second win in that category at the SAGs, he previously won for Black Panther, and he's the first director to win twice. We're so happy Michael B. Jordan won Best Actor. Chandra is so relieved that Timothee Chalamet didn't win. It was great to see the excitement for Michael B. Jordan. We hope this means his chances are better at the Oscars. Oscar voters are voting later as they're actually watching the movies. I play a clip of Amy Madigan responding to Michael B. Jordan's win. I think Sinners is a more memorable film than One Battle After Another. Chandra thinks they're both memorable and mentions that they're both being memed a lot too. Royals: Minutes (12:45) to 21:00 Last week we talked about Harry and Meghan's trip to Jordan through the World Health Organization. This week we got some predictable raging about that, with sources claiming that they need their titles removed and that they can't do humanitarian work because William forbids it! Whenever the Sussexes go anywhere, they get briefed against by the other royals. This time it was mostly William complaining though. Charles seems to be briefing against Harry less. There's a new book out by The Daily Mirror's royal editor Russell Myers called William and Catherine: The Monarchy's New Era. It's very much propaganda from the Waleses. It was released last month in the UK and is coming out in the US on March 10. Some stories that have come out of the book include the claim that William never assaulted Harry and that William and Kate disliked Meghan from the start and thought she "had an agenda." William was gatekeeping Harry's charity work and didn't want him working on military issues, as Harry wrote about in Spare. William and Charles were also said to be furious when Harry issued a statement defending then-girlfriend Meghan Markle from the negative press about her.
