Business BLAB - Social Media Ghosted Us! How To Back Up Your Business

Business BLAB - Social Media Ghosted Us! How To Back Up Your Business

Yesterday will go down as the great Social Media apocalypse of 2021! Were you prepared? It's important to remember that we don't own our Social Media platforms, so having contingencies in place is going to be key to well rounded success… or, at the very least, less panic when a platform goes down! So here are some things you can do TODAY to prep you for the next time something like this happens… because it will happen again!

Build your email list! You've heard me talk about this before, and today is a perfect example of WHY we need one!

Create a killer lead magnet to grow your email list by offering a freebie or discount to your audience. Also, be sure to create a strategy around all of your content to funnel people to your email list.

Take to Twitter (and other platforms like clubhouse, youtube, linkedin and pinterest). Even FB and Instagram took to Twitter today to address the masses and share what is happening. It may not be your main platform, but it's a good idea to have an account on several other platforms just in case.

Grow real life connections in your community and outside of the digital world! Remember that eal people in the community need your product or services, too.

Schedule your content ahead of time. How good is it going to feel when we are back up and running and you have fresh content ready to go.

Create a Media and PR plan for your business. Appear on podcasts, guest speak at summits and other communities, submit content to large blogs, get your name in front of new people and get exposure anyway you can.

Check out my NEW COURSE The Systemized Social Media Shake Up, which covers all these tips and more around how to make a Social Media strategy that works for your life and business! https://bossladiesandbabies.regfox.com/the-systemized-social-media-shake-up

How did you survive the outage? Were you freaking out? Did you have a backup plan? Take the day off? Let me know at megan@bossladiesandbabies.com

Business BLAB - How To Get Your Business Ready For Q4

Business BLAB - How To Get Your Business Ready For Q4

And just like that…. We are heading into the 4th quarter of the year. When I’m watching football, I basically wait all game for the 4th quarter, especially that last couple minutes… it’s the most exciting!

I’m going to hit you with a football reference here, so it that’s not your thang, bear with me. The 4th quarter is my favorite (football and business alike)... Whether you’re down by a touchdown, tied, or ready to secure your win, the 4th quarter is your chance to finish strong! And unlike waiting until the last minutes of the game, it’s important that we go into the 4th quarter as business owners knowing what to expect and feeling super solid about how we will finish strong. Now is the time to look back and give yourself a little audit for the past 3 quarters of the year (think of it as a personal business review)  and see where you’re at, what you've accomplished, and where you need to complete to hit those 2021 goals. I’m going to walk you through how I do my quarterly audits and set myself up to stay on track and kick some business booty!

The Millennials' Guide For Working Parents

The Millennials' Guide For Working Parents

Remember that book I'm writing that I've been talking about for months.... while THE TIME HAS COME! The book will be published and available for you on September 28th 2021!!! So, in honor of this special moment, I brought on my co-authors - Mikki Flaherty and Whitnee Hawthorne - to give you the inside scoop on what this book is all about! We talk about some behind the scenes, what it was like to co-author from different states and as complete strangers, and how we found inspiration for writing this book! We share how we were approached, how different the publishing process was then we thought it would be, and what is next for each of us! The Millennials' Guide For Working Parents is incredible because it was written by 3 women from different walks of life, sharing their secrets to crushing their careers and motherhood!

Millennials have been raised in a career focused culture. As we start to become parents and navigate through our parenting journey, there is often worry that we will no longer be seen as the professional, and that we will lose the high level thinking, respected, side of ourselves to parenthood. That simply isn’t the case, and The Millennial’s Guide For Working Parents helps millennials discover tools to balance business, life, and everything in between, while still being perceived as a total “boss”.

Millennial parents are learning that they can have both! This guide was written by 3 powerhouse millennial working moms who have cracked the code on being professional, while parenting, and taking control of their lives. It is possible to build your career, care for your family, and not lose yourself along the way! Are you ready to make it happen?

    This practical guide includes:

Advice on overcoming the loss of your professional identity

Strategies on how to become seen as the "professional parent"

Tips for managing your time and working towards “balance”

A unique take on self care and mental health

Writing this book has been a dream come true, and I'm so honored to have created something that will help working parents everywhere! Stay tuned for details on how, when, and where you can get your hands on a copy! Thank you to Mikki and Whitnee for being vulnerable and sharing your experiences. We did it!!!

Business BLAB - How To Recognize Signs Of Burnout

Business BLAB - How To Recognize Signs Of Burnout

As I was going to write this episode, I was feeling pretty meh about it. We all know what burnout is, we all have a general idea of how it feels, but what are the signs that happen to lead up to burnout and how do we know if we are about to head into the dark territory. If I’m being transparent, as I’m writing this episode, I realized I’m currently living in burn out zone.. And I need to get out! I knew I was tired, overwhelmed, and feeling a little down, but I wish I would have noticed some of the other signs before I got to where I am. Because now, like so many of you listening, I have to dig my way out, clear my head, recharge, adjust, and get back to a healthy place. So, since I’m clearly no expert in this- I took to my bff google and found some very helpful information on the topic! Some of what I read I already knew, but many signs I’ve noticed and didn’t attribute to burnout. So, I’m going to share what I found with you and give some of my insights. Check out this article for more! https://www.helpguide.org/articles/stress/burnout-prevention-and-recovery.htm#

Ok, what are some of the things we may notice if we are on the road to burnout out?

Every day is a bad day.
Caring about your work or home life seems like a total waste of energy.
    You’re exhausted all the time.
The majority of your day is spent on tasks you find either mind-numbingly dull or overwhelming.
You feel like nothing you do makes a difference or is appreciated.

Ring a bell? Yikes…. ALL OF THESE THINGS have been happening over here! I thought I was depressed or being dramatic, but it turns out I’m on my way to burn out and I need to stop it! Luckily you don’t just wake up one morning and feel burned out. It happens gradually over time, but if you aren’t paying attention it can hit you like a ton of bricks.

Burnout manifests itself in a few different ways, physically, mentally, and emotionally, and not all of them are super obvious. This episode covers the most useful list I found on the internet that I’ve experienced, and I think will be helpful for anyone who may be on the same path. I’m going to go through these and see which I’m experiencing/have experienced and I want you to do the same.

Burnout as a whole can be experienced by anyone who feels overworked and undervalued (aka motherhood hahah), but doesn’t have to be a normal part of our lives! I’m hoping that we can use these signs to help us stop the burnout before it happens! Also being vocal about our priorities, wants and needs, and drawing some clear boundaries for ourselves and our families will help us stay in a healthy mindset. I’ll keep you posted on how I get out of burnout mode, and will do a future episode on how to get back on track!

How do you stop burnout from happening? Are you experiencing it now? Let me know at megan@bossladiesandbabies.com
