RADIO GAG - The Gays Against Guns Show

RADIO GAG - The Gays Against Guns Show

Gays Against Guns NY is an inclusive direct action group of LGBTQ people and their allies committed to nonviolently breaking the gun industry's chain of death—investors, manufacturers, the NRA and politicians who block safer gun laws. We are New York-based but work with GAG chapters in other cities to ensure safety for all individuals, particularly vulnerable communities such as people of color, women, people who struggle with mental health issues, LGBTQ people and religious minorities. GAG condemns white supremacy, all instances of excessive force by police, and police militarization.

RG Breakdown Guns are Everywhere: GAG is Here!

Breakdown Summary : Guns Are Everywhere: GAG is Here! The Breakdown is an abbreviated version of our Radio GAG podcast that covers an overview of the show with excerpts and highlights. When you dive into the full podcast you can get a fuller perspective on the work of Gays Against Guns, the intersectionality of gun violence with homophobia, racism and the right wing extremism of our country.. Guns are everywhere: A mall in Baton Rouge, a park in Brooklyn, homes in Shreveport, the White House Press Correspondents Dinner, and the result is fear, death and injury. A panel of Gays Against Guns activists gather to talk about the atmosphere of violence that dogs America and disrupts our safety in virtually every community. Our In Memoriam focuses on just one victim, Nancy Metayer. Nancy will be joined by more than 45,000 others this year alone. Many of the victims of gun homicide in our country are documented by Artist and Educator Michael Sylvan Robinson, who has passed a milestone of more than 500 Human Beings killed in gun violence and represented by Gays Against Guns on our Human Beings Face Book page and in the many rallies and demonstrations GAG takes part in each year. 2026 is the tenth year since the Pulse Nightclub Massacre, an horrific act of hate and domestic terrorism that killed 49 human beings gathered to dance and celebrate at the Pulse Nightclub in Orlando Florida on June 12, 2016. Gun Mass Breakdown

There’s strength and power in our alliances. Radio GAG 2026 Episode 2 “Gun Mass” celebrates the alliance between the Empire City Men's Chorus and Gays Against Guns. This episode brings together Dr. Vince Peterson, Director of the Empire City Men’s Chorus, and John Grauwiler, former President of Gays Against Guns, in conversation. Episode 2 includes a new feature: How to Be An Activist with GAG member Kimberly Miller explaining how she got involved in direct action. If you are wondering what you can do to make a difference in these difficult and chaotic times in which we live, Kim will inspire you! Gun Mass will be performed March 13th & 14th, 2026 and is described as “Two devastating choral masterworks that confront America's twin crises: Jamie Powe's "Gun Mass" — a liturgical lament for victims of school shootings — and Joel Thompson's "Seven Last Words of the Unarmed" — setting the final words of Black men killed by police. While our leaders spew hatred and refuse reform, these works demand we confront uncomfortable truths about gun violence and police brutality”. Radio GAG 2026 gives you new choices: our Breakdown podcasts let you listen to thought provoking guests in the time it takes you to walk the dog. Our full podcasts dig deeper as our guests make connections that explain the reasons for the American epidemic of gun violence and inform you about what is being done in communities and Statehouses to fight gun violence and support survivors.
