    ChatCast 61: Stephen R. Bissette on 'The Brood'

    Comic Book Legend Stephen R. Bissette joins us in the Dork Cave to discuss his new critical analysis of David Cronenberg's "The Brood." Yeah, you read that right. The artist who radically altered the landscape of comics alongside Alan Moore and John Totleben with "The Saga of the Swamp Thing" has just cranked out a nearly 700-page book on David Cronenberg's gnarliest confrontation on the pains of divorce and child abuse. Bissette brings a tremendous amount of insight as well as a deeply personal passion for his celebration of the 1979 cult classic.  From P.S. Publishing, Bissette's gargantuan analysis of the film spins out of their Midnight Movie Monograph series edited by Neal Snowden. In a universe where Tweets tend to represent the heights of criticism, P.S. Publishing demands a much more considered conversation on significant works of horror cinema.     ChatCast 60: Cuddles and Rage on 'Bites of Terror' Part I

    ChatCast 59: Brea Grant on 'Lucky'

    Brea Grant, star of 'After Midnight' joins us on today's episode to talk filmmaking and art. The Indie Dork recently went out to Los Angeles to host the Q&A's for the premiere of that film. He returned from the trip with a couple of rad conversations.   Brea gives an amazing performance in 'After Midnight'. There is a fourteen-minute, single shot in that film that is pure cinematic magic. We talk a bit about what went into the construction of that scene. We also talk about two of her other upcoming projects. She's written and starred in a film called 'Lucky', directed by Natasha Kermani. He brings a treasure chest of knowledge to this conversation while he's out promoting his new comedy-horror experience, "Eat Brains Love." We have a good ol' time in our favorite projection booth in our favorite movie theater on the planet - the Alamo Drafthouse in Winchester, Virginia. We begin at the beginning, with Flender's forrays as a projectionist and the lost art form he deeply respects. We discuss how technology is changing the landscape of cinema. No doom and gloom here.     ChatCast 54: Richard Stanley on 'Color Out of Space'

    Richard Stanley is in the house! We continue to unleash our Fantastic Fest conversations held last year in the great state of Texas. H.P. Lovecraft + Richard Stanley + Nicolas Cage = "Color Out of Space." The film is one helluva wallop and lives up to its magical ingredients in ways we were not expecting, but thoroughly enjoyed. Getting the chance to talk to Stanley regarding his obsession with Lovecraft and his desire to challenge the writer's nastier sensibilities was a true delight, and one we'll cherish for some time to come. We talk about why 'Color Out of Space' was the only Lovecraft tale he could tackle, how his mother influenced his artistic vision and the dreams that came to him as he was mucking about in such dark realms.
