    César Faison's 2012–2013 return was his most personal scheme yet. Rather than operating from the shadows, he wore another man's face — specifically Duke Lavery's — and walked straight into Anna Devane's life, convinced that if he could become the man she had loved, she would eventually love him too. Meanwhile, Robin Scorpio Drake wasn't dead. She had been abducted, held overseas, and forced to continue her medical research — all as part of Faison's plan to devastate Anna before swooping in as the hero. The impersonation nearly worked. Fingerprints matched. Robert Scorpio's warnings were dismissed. Anna's trust was real. It took a psychic vision from Olivia Falconeri, a chemical pressed against a latex mask, and a memory about a place called Andermat that never existed to finally bring it all down. By 2013, the story had moved to Cassadine Island — Robin still captive, the real Duke chained in the tunnels, and Anna finally closing in on the truth she had been chasing all year. A major focus this week is the escalating situation involving Britt and Sidwell, and how Lucas gets pulled deeper into it after learning that Marco knew Sidwell has been forcing Britt to continue Faison’s cold-fusion research. Britt is being controlled through her Huntington’s medication, with access tightened to keep her dependent and compliant, and Lucas is determined to help her break free by getting a sample that can be reverse-engineered. Britt considers a risky plan involving sodium pentothal, but Lucas pushes back and instead pressures Marco to help secure a vial—knowing it could put all three of them in serious danger once Sidwell’s people realize a vial is missing. At the same time, Faison revealed himself as the mastermind behind Lucky Spencer’s presumed death, holding Lucky captive and staging an elaborate cover-up using falsified medical records and surveillance to convince the world he was gone. Faison controlled Lucky through psychological manipulation, threatening Elizabeth Webber and forcing Lucky into strategic mind games while Helena Cassadine’s involvement hinted at a larger plan unfolding behind the scenes. As Luke discovered Faison’s true identity, the diamond scheme escalated into a personal battle that pulled Felicia and Mac Scorpio into the chaos, straining relationships and raising the emotional stakes. Even after arrest, Faison continued manipulating events, ultimately escaping custody and delivering a final bombshell to Luke: Lucky was alive. Moments later, Faison disappeared in a boat explosion, leaving Port Charles once again believing he was dead. In the aftermath, Luke began to suspect Helena’s deeper role in the scheme, setting the stage for future revelations and proving once again that Faison’s greatest weapon was never violence — it was control.
