On The Rocks: Utah Gymnastics

I was disappointed in a few things, but primarily with how amateur the commentators were. They have not articulated the technical side of the Red Rock’s amazing gymnastics at all. It’s pretty clear that neither commentator has really studied, competed, coached, or judged gymnastics, so for someone that has been involved in the sport I found it uninteresting. I also didn’t find it educational for new fans, so I’m not sure who the intended audience of this podcast is. Additionally, they often have incorrect statistics and are speculating. There is also SO much stuttering that I can’t follow the conversation, and one person’s audio is similarly hard to listen to. I am happy to see fan support for this team, and I suppose that any exposure is good momentum for Utah Gymnastics, but this just really misses the mark.

You guys were way negative. You didn't have to keep bringing up how Maile's been want really a 10 and how bad the scoring was. Once maybe, but not over and over and over. Also I thought the scoring was not wrong on vault I've see way worse scoring. Cal has vaults that start at a 9.5 not 10 and they were getting 8.5 with big steps. All our vaults start at a 10.
