    S02E01 Hacksaw Ridge

    And we're back After absolutely no break in scheduling whatsoever, we're starting a new series. This second miniseries is looking at the nominees from 2017 (so films released in 2016 - why don't they just do the Oscars in December to stop this confusing mess?) and first on the docket is Hacksaw Ridge, Mel Gibson's return to direction after a 10-year hiatus. Join us as we chat about whether the film is any good (it's not), whether Mel Gibson is the worst (he is) and whether it's cause for celebration that he's back in our homes (it's not).     We've talked about all the films from the 1995 best picture category and yet we're still doing another episode this season and it absolutely was not a self-indulgent mistake, thank you very much.     Closing out the non winning nominees from 1995, we look at the film that defined the 90s: Pulp Fiction. Pulp Fiction is a 1994 American crime film written and directed by Quentin Tarantino; it is based on a story by Tarantino and Roger Avary. Starring John Travolta, Samuel L. Goodwin's memoir Remembering America: A Voice From the Sixties.
