Episode 207: Choosing Jesus even when it's hard - Riley's Story

"I want to be a Christian." Riley said. Ava's eyes widened before a huge smile spread across her face. "Really?" Riley nodded, emotion catching in her throat. "Watching you these past few months changed something in me. Like… everything hasn't exactly been easy for you, but you still trust God anyway. You still have peace." She glanced over at her friend. "I've never met anyone like that before." Ava looked down shyly. "That peace isn't me. It's God." "I know," Riley whispered. "And whenever I'm around you, I feel it too. Like my mind finally goes quiet for once." The breeze stirred around them. "But my family hates the idea," Riley admitted after a moment. "They think I'm being dramatic or brainwashed or something." She swallowed hard. "At first I wanted to argue back and prove them wrong, but… I don't think that's what God wants." Ava nodded slowly. "Probably not." "So I'm not going to fight them," Riley continued. "I'm going to pray for them instead. And my aunt said I can stay with her if things get too hard. She doesn't really care what I believe, but at least there'll be peace."                                ______________________________________________________ Join us as we dive into the story of Riley - the modernised story of Ruth found in the book of Ruth in the Bible. Episode 205: When Everything Changes: The Story of Ruth

Hey GIGI girls, Today we have a brand-new story for you - we are looking at a woman in the Bible found in the Old Testament. Her name is Ruth. You can find her story in the Book of Ruth. Here is a sneak peek....                             Naomi turned to her, her voice more urgent now. "Look," she said, gesturing down the road. "Your sister-in-law is going back to her people and her gods. Go back with her." Ruth shook her head, her fingers tightening around Naomi's cloak. Her voice, when she spoke, was steady. "Don't urge me to leave you," she said quietly. Naomi stilled. Ruth took a step closer. "Or to turn back from following you." The golden light of the rising sun touched her face, and for a moment, everything seemed to hold its breath. "Where you go, I will go," Ruth continued, her voice growing stronger. "And where you stay, I will stay." Naomi's eyes filled with tears again, but this time she didn't speak... Episode 203: From Pages High - Almost Honest: Sydney's story

Turning, she almost dropped the platter when she saw that one of the visitors had followed her to the kitchen and was standing in the doorway watching her. Sydney wondered if he wanted to steal her watch; it was a valuable piece. Mustering up her most practised kind smile, she put her hand to her chest and spoke, "Oh , you scared me! How can I help you?" She kept her smile in place, waiting for him to answer. For a second she didn't think he would, and felt her lips begin to shake. How long was she supposed to keep smiling? But when he finally spoke, she felt the blood drain from her face and her smile disappear completely. "You don't need to pretend you know," he began, his eyes boring right into her. "There's no one around. I know you don't like us being here. The only reason I came was that Ms. Jenny has shown me a Jesus who forgives and accepts me. She's genuine, and I came to meet her God. I knew they'd be people who would look down at us; they always do, in and out of church, but I don't care. You, however? You're good, smiling and welcoming, preparing food being the perfect Christian. You play your part very, very well, but you're lying through your teeth to everyone, especially to yourself. Do you think I need help? Look in the mirror, you're doing more harm than good." Then he turned and walked away.                                  ______________________________________________________ Join us as we dive into the story of Sydney's story  - the modernised story of Sapphira found in Acts 5:1-11. Episode 201: The Danger of Half-Truths - The story of Sapphira

Hey GIGI girls, Today we have a brand-new story for you - we are looking at a woman in the Bible found in the New Testament. She was married to Ananias, and they both made a terrible mistake. You can find their story in your Bible in Acts 5: 1-11. Here is a sneak peek....                             A small leather bag filled with coins lay on the table between them. Ananias paced back and forth.  Sapphira watched him. Her stomach fluttered. "We have to decide now," he said, voice low and urgent. They had sold a field—something many believers had been doing to support the new church. The generosity was incredible, and people admired it deeply. Barnabas had given a magnificent gift just the week before, and his name was on everyone's lips. Sapphira's eyes dropped to the bag of coins. "Are we truly giving all of it?" she asked quietly. Ananias stopped pacing and looked at her with a confident smile. "We'll give most of it," he said. "Enough to look like everything. No one will know." A breeze slipped through the open doorway, brushing cold across her arms. "But… we said we would give it all," she whispered. Ananias stepped closer, lowering his voice. "Sapphira, listen. We're not lying to God. We're still helping the church. We just don't need to tell them about the part we're keeping." Her throat tightened. The uneasy feeling in her spirit grew heavier. Respect. Admiration. Approval. The things she secretly wanted crowded her thoughts. And the coins glimmered temptingly in the dim morning light. She nodded. But her heart felt heavy as stone.
