Shaman Kirkland is a graduate of the University of Southern Maine where he majored in Political Science. He has had numerous prominent positions and experiences in the past several years, including working as a Senate campaign manager, attending a Costa Rica Youth Summit, and acting as president of PeaceJam USM. Shaman now owns and operates Organic Gardens farm in Juniata County, PA. In this episode, Shaman and Nick sit down to discuss what it's like to be on the inside of politics in the US, and they dive deep into some of the divisive issues both at home and abroad. Shaman weighs in on his thoughts and experiences regarding racism in America, and he describes his views on religion and how it has shaped his life. Real and raw. No BS conversations with real people from all walks of work. If you want to learn more about a given profession, this podcast gives you a pretty good “fly on the wall” perspective about what it may be like to work in that field. While shows like the JRE are great for getting insights from world-renowned titans of trade, high profile figures are often restricted in what they can say. The thing I like about this podcast is that it’s literally Nick and Cole talking with someone about their passions and craft. No shareholders to please. No media scandals to worry about. No agendas. Just passionate people having cool conversations, giving raw insights into their crafts. Like I said, this is Joe Rogan meets Main St.
