Patreon Exclusive 24 - The Mystery of the Wizard Clip

I was so unsatisfied by other re-tellings and explanations of this legend that I did an intense deep dive into it. I ended up obsessing over Father Gallitzin and did a cradle to grave biography about him and his episode is on this feed as well. The Mystery of the Wizard Clip is a supernatural event that took place in the 1790’s in Middleway, West Virginia which was investigated by the Catholic church. Was the Wizard Clip a ghost or a demon? Could it have simply been a human prankster? Listen to this Patreon exclusive and decide for yourself!  Apologies for my breathing being so prominent in this episode. I was still struggling with some asthma issues during this recording, it was also very late at night when I found time to record so I was sighing and yawning also. I try to hold myself to a higher standard and will try to do better in the future, but unfortunately at the moment I have to steal recording time when I can. Thank you so much for understanding!  SOURCES Hillbilly Horror Stories episode titled Midweek 4 Demon of Wizard Clip & Serial Spirits  Monsteropolis episode 77 titled to the woods where someone who writes in to the show believes that the wizard clip is related to the bell witch haunting.  Wizard Clip by Granny Sue https://www.miraclesofthechurch.com/2011/11/wizard-clip-adam-livingstons-miraculous.html https://www.mysticsofthechurch.com/2014/02/the-wizard-clip-mystic-voice-newspaper.html blog post that transcribed a newspaper article from 1926  THE KINGSTON DAILY FREEMAN NEWSPAPER Monday November 1, 1926 https://www.atlasobscura.com/articles/wizard-clip-west-virginia-priest-field The Ghost Story Behind a Bucolic Catholic Retreat Center A brief, true history of West Virginia’s Priest Field and “The Legend of the Wizard Clip.” BY ERIC GRUNDHAUSER NOVEMBER 7, 2017 The Big Book of West Virginia Ghost Stories By Visionary Living, Inc.
