    Episode 2: Taboo Series - Let's Talk About Homosexuality

    Before recording this episode, we sat down with a knowledgeable individual to ask them about the questions you all submitted to us. In this episode, we talked about many aspects that deal with homosexuality in Islam. This episode was a very uncomfortable one to record, but that is why we created the taboo series. We answered questions regarding whether or not homosexuality is allowed in Islam, what our stance on homosexuality should be as Muslims, what to do if someone you know comes out to you, what it means if you are a homosexual Muslim, and so much more. We hope you all benefit from this episode and we would love to hear any feedback or thoughts you all have - whether or not you agree with us! We are so excited for this season and all the exciting upcoming episodes and plans.  We are starting the new season & new year by delving into important topics that we can implement throughout this year to help us improve our relationships, overall well-being, and vibes for this year.  In this episode, we talked to Dr. Nahla (@imdoctornahla) who is an aspiring psychiatrist, mental health advocate, and an overall amazing person who is really making an impact in our community by shedding light on stigmas surrounding mental health & various taboo topics.     Episode 32: Let's Talk About The Stigma Surrounding Mental Health with Dr. Nahla

    In this episode, we talked to Dr. Nahla about the stigmas surrounding mental health in our communities. Dr. Nahla earned her undergraduate degree in Health Sciences where she learned about the social determinants of health, igniting her passion to support and advocate for underserved communities and minorities as a healthcare professional. Nahla is breaking the stigma associated with mental health in minority communities and encouraging proactively seeking the care they need in a way that is meaningful to them.  We answered many of the questions that you all asked including: "How can one respectfully explain to people the importance of seeking professional help and that mental illness is not linked to being a bad Muslim?" "How can young Muslims seek mental health help? What should they do if their parents/guardians do not approve of it or do not understand their struggles?" "How should someone deal with having suicidal thoughts or when they know that a friend is having suicidal thoughts?"
