    Margaret Cox and Cherylee Nowlan Masters

    On December 19, 1996, Margaret Cox was last seen near the Big Oyster service station on the Pacific Highway in Taree, New South Wales.  What happened next would leave her family searching for answers for decades. Nearly four years later, on September 22, 2000, Cherylee Nowlan Masters was last seen on Albert Street in Taree. She told friends she planned to travel to the Maitland area, but her movements after that remain unclear.     Amy Mihaljevic Replay

    In October 1989, 10-year-old Amy Mihaljevic began receiving phone calls from a man who claimed to work with her mom. This man told Amy that her mom had received a promotion at work, and he needed Amy's help picking out a gift. They arranged to meet up and Amy was never seen alive again. Despite an extensive investigation with tens of thousands of hours spent on leads and potential suspects, her case remains unsolved to this day.     Karlie Gusé Replay

    Karlie Lain Gusé was 16 years old when she was last seen in the Chalfant Valley area of Mono County, California, on the morning of October 13, 2018. She is white with dark blonde hair and blue eyes. At the time of her disappearance, she was 5’7” and weighed approximately 110lbs. Karlie’s left nostril is pierced.     William Tyrrell Part 4

    Seven years after William Tyrrell disappeared, detectives told his foster mother they knew where he was. But they hadn’t found him. They were accusing her of concealing his body, an allegation she denied.  In the final installment of this series, we follow the investigation’s renewed focus on William’s foster mother, the secret recordings, the searches, and the legal battles that brought the police theory under scrutiny. We return to the morning William disappeared to examine what the evidence supports and the questions that remain unanswered.  We also return to the people whose lives have been shaped by William’s absence, including his sister, who told the inquest she wanted to become a detective so she could find her brother. William Tyrrell was three years old when he disappeared on September 12, 2014, from his foster grandmother’s home on Benaroon Drive in Kendall, New South Wales, Australia. He would be 15 years old as of this episode’s release. William is white, with straight brown hair and hazel eyes. He has a large, dark freckle on the top of his head, approximately two inches behind his hairline.     Ariana Ptarcinski

    On Christmas Day in 2021, 18-year-old Ariana Ptarcinski suffered a fatal stab wound at her family’s home in Spring Hill, Florida. She died the following day. Her death was ruled a homicide, but in August 2023, prosecutors declined to file criminal charges, citing what they described as insufficient evidence of criminal intent.  For this bonus episode of Voices for Justice, I’m joined by Aaron from the Generation Why podcast. Aaron has been speaking with Ariana’s father, Ed, and takes the lead as we discuss the circumstances surrounding her death, the questions her family has raised about the investigation, and their efforts to get justice. Ariana was a talented artist, a recent high school graduate, and a young woman making plans for her future.     William Tyrrell Part 3

    The search for William Tyrrell was becoming one of the largest missing child investigations in Australian history. But as the years passed without answers, the investigation itself began to change. In Part 3, we examine a major turning point in William’s case: the coronial inquest, the investigation led by Detective Chief Inspector Gary Jubelin, and the controversy that ultimately removed him from the case.  We look at the covert recordings that led to criminal charges against Jubelin, his eventual conviction, and what was happening in the search for William as the investigation moved forward without him.     William Tyrrell Part 2

    A tip about a washing machine repairman gave investigators a name to pursue in William Tyrrell’s disappearance. But as scrutiny of Bill Spedding intensified, the evidence supporting his alibi raised questions about the direction of the investigation. In part two, I examine why police focused on Spedding, what happened when they investigated him, and how their attention shifted toward William’s foster grandmother’s neighbor, Paul Savage. We follow Detective Gary Jubelin’s efforts to test his theories, including an operation involving a decoy Spider Man suit left along a bush trail. As investigators returned to the surrounding bushland for another extensive search, one question remained central: Had William wandered away, or was someone else responsible for his disappearance? William Tyrrell was last seen on September 12, 2014, at his foster grandmother’s home on Benaroon Drive in Kendall, New South Wales, Australia. He was three years old when he disappeared and would be 15 years old as of September 2026. William is white, with straight brown hair and hazel eyes. He has a large, dark freckle on the top left side of his head, approximately five centimeters, or two inches, behind his hairline. He was wearing a Spider Man costume when he disappeared.
