Amanda & Esther

Our mission is to have candid conversations that dig a little deeper using an evidence-based framework. We want to stimulate critical thinking about everyday issues and how they link to us as Christians, ABCs (Australian-born Chinese) and millennials. We talk about life, purpose, happiness, having a healthy relationship with money, investing, raising positivity, goals and inspirations, and how these fit in with our faith. We explore positive psychology, cognitive bias, neuroplasticity, behavioural economics and the science of life!

What can you learn from marriage, birth and parenting?

(This episode was recorded in November 2020) We chat about analogies of birth, the value of sleep and its impact on mental health. Also about paying attention to all aspects of our lives, and the similarities between parenting and leadership. This episode is fairly anecdotal in nature (and totally an opinion piece!), but is a practical application of theory! No studies were referenced but below are some handy websites that have a science-based perspective to parenting: https://scienceofmom.com/about/ https://www.parentingscience.com/baby-sleep-patterns.html And an article on how establishing routine during times of uncertainty can reduce anxiety and stress: https://thriveglobal.com/stories/establishing-routines-during-uncertainty/ Post natal depression and anxiety are real for both mums and dads and can be treated.
