    Tax Update on Recent Tax Changes

    The Governments Tax Reform process is gaining pace. In recent months we have seen the Union Tax Law 2019 enacted, the Tax Administration Act is in force with effect from 1 October 2019 and a new draft Income Tax law has been released by the government for public comment.     Myanmar's new Intellectual Property (IP) Laws: Implications, risks and opportunities

    Myanmar's much anticipated new Intellectual Property (IP) Laws were finally passed this year, kicking into gear the establishment of a new IP regime that is more consistent with international standards and frameworks -- a move that is hoped to inspire more investor's confidence in the country. Lingyi Quek (Dentons Myanmar) and Eunice Chan (KASS Myanmar) provide an overview of these newly enacted laws and discuss the implementation as well as the implications, risks and opportunities of the trademark law in particular for investors and businesses.
