    My guest today is a veteran of the punk rock scene who has seen the music industry from every possible angle. He’s a singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and the founder and CEO of Manic Kat Records—an independent, artist-centric label based in New York. After years of grinding on the road and playing multiple stints on the Vans Warped Tour, he decided to build a label designed to be the exact kind of home he would have wanted as a young musician. On top of running the business and cultivating an incredible roster of punk, pop-punk, and alternative talent, he’s also an active artist on the label, making music with the band Cult Classic.     My guest today is a master craftsman who has been described as "a veritable Picasso of the jazz guitar world." He is a virtuoso nylon-string guitarist, an acclaimed composer, and a brilliant educator who remarkably joined the faculty at the Berklee College of Music at just 19 years old. With over a dozen celebrated books and albums to his credit, his genre-blurring voice has earned him the prestigious ASCAP Foundation Jazz Vanguard Award. But beyond his incredible fingerstyle technique and scores for the ballet and silver screen, he is also on the front lines fighting for the future of independent music as a vital voice on the Freelance Musicians Association Jazz Advocacy Committeeas well as the Co-Chair of the AFM Local 802 Artist Rights Caucus (N.Y.).     MOLA - Ep 29 -Joe Beribak - Composer/Percussionist/Educator

    My guest today is Joe Beribak. He’s a multi-hyphenate in every sense of the word—a percussionist, a conductor, a prize-winning composer, and a dedicated educator. But his path to the podium is anything but standard. We’re talking about a man who spent nearly two years in the silence of a Benedictine monastery, singing Gregorian chant, before returning to the ‘hustle’ of the modern freelance world. Joe is a recent joiner of the Chicago Federation of Musicians, but he’s also a bridge-builder. Between his late-in-life autism diagnosis and his pursuit of what he calls "Expert Noticing," Joe sees the "invisible world" of sound in a way that’s frankly on a whole different plane of the Spider-Verse.     My guest today is Ken Holt, an Indie Artist and Songwriter in the Americana genre out of Jacksonville, Florida. Ken plays bass, guitar and mandolin. He’s also served as a Pastor and Youth Minister in the Presbyterian Church. He’s played professionally since the mid 70s, having  performed with the New England band The Blend, opening for The Who, ZZ-Top, Hall & Oats, 38-Special, Loggins and Messina, The Outlaws, Blue Oyster Cult, Charlie Daniels, Foghat and more.
