the reason you're scrolling instead of living (and the first step back to yourself)

UPDATE: 85,000 of you listened to this episode. whoooooaaa and the message coming back wasn’t confusion. it was something worse. clarity without direction. “i see myself in this. but what do i do with it?” so i built the next step. because awareness without a way forward doesn’t stay neutral for long. it turns into pressure. and pressure without an exit turns into the same loop you’ve been in. just with better vocabulary for it. SO.. if this episode describes your life even a little too accurately. don’t just consume it. this is exactly the kind of pattern that doesn’t shift from insight alone. you can understand the cycle perfectly and still wake up inside it tomorrow. because knowing and leaving are not the same thing. DO THIS INSTEAD → survival mode reset ($7) seven audio episodes for high-functioning people who are exhausted, emotionally absent from their own lives, and stuck in loops that awareness hasn’t been able to break. you can come back to the episode after. but don’t stay stuck in the knowing without the moving. what this episode is really about i was sitting on my mom’s couch at noon on a tuesday. kids in childcare. phone in my hand. scrolling through lives that didn’t feel far away. they felt like mine. except they weren’t. and i remember thinking. this isn’t my life. and no one is coming to fix it. not dramatically. not with tears. just quietly. the way you realize something you’ve known for a while but finally let yourself say out loud. this episode is about what it feels like to be functioning inside a life you’re not fully present in. not burnout. not laziness. something quieter than both. you are here. but you’re not here. what this episode covers * why rest doesn’t restore you anymore. and what’s actually underneath the exhaustion. * the shame loop high-functioning people mistake for personal failure. * what psychology says about dissociation as a survival response. not a character flaw. * why awareness alone doesn’t break patterns. and what does. * how grief removed me from my own life for years. without me noticing. * the moment i realized i was no longer inside my own days. * the first shift. not fixing anything. just noticing the absence. the question this leaves you with when was the last time you were actually here? not managing. not performing. not escaping into the next task. just. here. if you can’t answer that quickly. that’s not failure. that’s signal. and once you see it, you don’t unsee it. a note on the research dissociation is not dysfunction. it is adaptation. psychology research (Burback et al., University of Alberta, 2024) describes dissociation as part of the brain’s threat system. when escape isn’t possible, the mind creates distance to preserve functioning. this is protection. not personality. your brain didn’t malfunction. it made a brilliant decision to keep you alive. the problem is that the decision is still running long after the emergency ended. survival mode reset this is where most people stop. because insight feels like progress. and progress feels like enough. but insight isn’t exit. understanding the loop doesn’t break the loop. it just makes you more aware of the walls. so i built the exit. 7 audio episodes. for high-functioning people who are exhausted, emotionally absent from their own lives, and stuck in cycles that self-awareness hasn’t been able to shift. no routines. no homework. no 30-day reinvention plan. just a structured way back into your own life. you don’t fix survival mode. you leave it. in layers. gently. the way you’d unlearn anything that kept you safe but stopped serving you. intro price: $7 (normally $47) → start survival mode reset next episode episode 2 goes into the escape behaviors. why you repeat what you already understand. why awareness doesn’t break cycles. and what actually has to change for your life to stop feeling like something you’re observing instead of living. if this episode made you see it. the next one will show you why seeing it wasn’t enough. signed, your encouragist This is a public episode. You have the vision. You have the skills. You might even have some of the resources. So why can't you move forward? If you've ever felt the frustration of being capable but completely paralyzed, this episode is for you. Today I'm diving into the gap between knowing what you want and actually building it. The space where brilliant women get trapped by life's circumstances, overwhelm, and the weight of their own expectations. In this episode, you'll discover: Why traditional "just push through" advice fails when you're dealing with real constraints The difference between your capacity and your capability (and why confusing them keeps you stuck) How to build momentum when everything feels overwhelming The BRAVE framework that helps you breakthrough limiting patterns and execute despite imperfect conditions Why some people with average ideas succeed while brilliant people with amazing visions stay stuck This isn't about working harder. It's about working strategically with your actual circumstances instead of against them. If you've been cycling between inspiration and exhaustion, between big dreams and daily survival, between knowing what you want and feeling powerless to get it - this conversation will give you a different way forward.
