Some friends get together and taste whisky/whiskey and derivatives of the drink. We are by no means experts, just tasting as many variations as we can to find the one we like most.

    The Lockdown Session

    As the Covid-19 lockdown was eased and pubs reopened we managed to get together for my birthday. This episode was recorded in August. Although we found a quiet corner, as soon as we started to record the room filled, so apologies in advance for the very loud background noise.     Monkey Shoulder

    It's been a while Whiskey lovers. Due to a family bereavement, work commitments, Covid-19 and other distractions it has taken us a while for some of us to get together.  This, long overdue, podcast features Alex Carr, and myself Shaun Savage, mulling over a Monkey Shoulder whiskey whilst connected over Google Hangouts.     Famous Grouse was our weapon of choice on this occasion. A Scotch whisky for a change. Contributors tonight were Alex, Michael and Natalie, and some other drunks at the end of the hotel bar.

    Sexton

    Recorded in Belfast with another Irish whiskey - Sexton with a rather unusually shaped bottle. There are some extras in the episode, Brian, Jo, Kevin and Pat, but no Alex. Phil and Chloe are also here. Brian is not a whiskey drinker, but on this night we gave him a few to try, and now he is not adverse to a snifter. Apologies for the noisy background. I wasn't going to publish this one because it is so loud, but there were a few laughs along the way.

    The Pogues

    A slightly tipsy episode this week, as we had cocktails to celebrate Alex's birthday before recording.  This episode is a tasting of The Pogues Irish Whiskey. A sweet, malty, smooth whiskey with some interesting flavours and warmth.

    Slane

    A new podcast and new theme music. The song Whiskey in the Jar was recorded by Charlie Savage. This is not to be confused by the traditional song of the same name. I hope you like it. The Whiskey in this episode was Slane Irish Whiskey. Apologies for the mistakes throughout. We recorded this on an impromptu evening, so the content is raw and on the fly. We are planning to improve the content in the coming episodes.

    Lagavulin

    There are four of us today, though one remains almost anonymous. We try Lagavulin, a whisky that we had heard good things about. Did we like it? Wait and see.
