    Chemin de Grain de Sel

    Carlos is running solo in Cordes-sur-Ciel, while Ms. J walks the same route for half an hour before turning back. The plan is simple: she walks, Carlos runs a little farther, and eventually they meet back up. Along the way, Carlos talks about the hills, the views, jet lag, sleep, and trying something a little different with his podcasting. He’s also recording this one with his friend Kevin and the folks at The Extra Mile in mind — a chance to send a little hello from France and spend some time with the running community he feels connected to, even from the other side of the Atlantic. Less about stats, more about sharing the experience and remembering that wherever we happen to be running, we’re all part of the same running family.     Blenkinsop down down down..

    Description:-Today's trail run climbed to its highest point on the Blenkinsop Trail before dropping down the steep, technical descent and looping home via the flatter Lochside Trail. The rocky downhill demanded patience rather than speed, but the Garry oak meadows, sweeping views, and dry summer landscape made every careful step worthwhile. A herd of Longhorn cattle waiting by the gate provided the perfect photo opportunity and an unexpected highlight of the morning. As I ran, my thoughts drifted to how these simple trail recordings might one day become a small record of everyday life, proving that ordinary adventures are worth preserving too. Just over nine kilometres later, I finished with another satisfying morning on the trails, reminded once again that the best runs are measured by the journey rather than the pace.     The Roman Ramblers #1

    Day one of Pablo, Bill, and Tony's trek across the UK got underway beside a vast tidal estuary, where mudflats stretched toward the horizon beneath a calm grey sky. Their journey officially began at the shelter bearing the inscription, "Wallsend, 84 miles. Good luck go with you" — a fitting send-off for the miles, memories, and challenges that lie ahead. As they followed the coastal path, the landscape unfolded in front of them: open water, green countryside, and the lingering echoes of centuries of history. What had been months of planning, anticipation, and preparation was no longer an idea on a map. The adventure had truly begun. The route today follows the shoreline alongside the Firth of Forth, with occasional glimpses through the trees revealing the broad estuary beyond. Conditions are far from perfect — a damp, drizzly day with a clammy chill hanging in the air — but that's all part of the experience. tthe borderlands are putting on a very UK welcome.
