Leaping into Living. A Life Overseas with Sasha T.

In part one of this two-part season finale. I am beyond excited to introduce my sister Sasha.  Sasha, the youngest of 3 sisters, in her own words, 'struggled to find her voice and identity' growing up.   In the journey to uncovering her own path, Sasha began to recognize little internal cues that when explored, opened her life up to tremendous positive growth. We discuss how her work and career in the fashion industry helped her to find her voice and calling, and how a huge decision to move abroad gave her the opportunity to realize her dream of living abroad. After 4 hours of audio, I split the goodness into two.  Our second part, a bonus episode, will talk about Sasha's work and mission to educate everyone on the importance of circularity and sustainability in the fashion industry.  The next chapter in her journey that speaks to this purpose and she shares that with us as well.  ----- Connect with Sasha!  Email: livstidsecondhand@gmail.com  Spindye: Spindye.com Podcast Mentions: The True Cost |truecostmovie.com ----- I hope you all are taking care of yourselves, wishing you great health, abundance, safety, and happiness as always. Healing through Plants with Jamar of Treated Very Kindly

Hello wonderful people! This week, I am sharing with you a conversation with a friend of mine, Jamar Graham of Treated Very Kindly.  Jamar and I first met as roommates and everyone knows that if you can be roommates and still like each other after, you really are friends.  During our time as roommates, we each started our plant-based journeys. I sadly didn't stick with it, but Jamar did.  Today we are going to explore his journey to plant-based living, what kept him on that path, and how it ended up informing the intentionality behind how he lives his life in other ways.  Thanks Jamar for this conversation and you can find more of his work here: IG: @treated_very_kindly Link to his latest Zine release: July 2020 References Mentioned: High Carb Hannah Forks over Knives Film War of Art by Steven Pressfield  The Art of War by Sun Tzu Thanks so much to everyone who listened this season. From Maiden to Mother, a Conversation.

This week, I'm back with two stories in one episode!  I sit down (in our respective and separate, still.) quarters to talk with two of my Syracuse Alumni Orange Women and who I look at truly as sisters. Both Brittany and Sorelle have recently journeyed through the portal that is pregnancy. Sorelle gave birth in December of 2019 and Brittany in early May of this year, 2020. It was their first experience with pregnancy and birth for each of them, and in light of my recent chats this season with some wonderful birthing Doulas shout out to Sasha and Zoë, I wanted to spend some time and hold space for these two remarkable women.  I think it is incredibly important to give space and a platform for the stories mothers and especially new mothers to give voice to their experiences. As Black women or women of color, it is even more pressing as we are frequently the most adversely affected group due to the lack of safety felt around sharing, around vulnerability, and physical safety. It was illuminating to me to hear the stories of the Sasha and Zoë, both birthing doulas, and one a practicing Labor and Delivery Nurse practitioner echoed in the experiences of my friends as two new mothers. It speaks to the reality of truth, that these experiences are happening to many people all over the country, and on different sides from patient to practitioner. We need to share more of these voices and this is just my small way of doing so. Trigger warning, we are going to be talking about birthing, the process, and the highs and lows. So the disclaimer was given here. This is a long one, but a great one. So pour some tea, get comfy, and join us in this beautiful conversation about a very important transition point in life. The power of Music and Education with Jacqueline of Youth Orch Urban

Hi there! Welcome back to the High Vibe Alchemist Podcast. I am so thrilled to share this conversation I had with Jacqueline of Youth Orchestra of Urban Towns and Hoods. Jacqueline has turned her love of music and a childhood dream of becoming a music educator, into a beautiful offering and platform whose aim is to diversify the artists and composers studied in string orchestral music training. Her new seed Youth Orchestra of Urban Towns and Hoods is a platform for this initiative; a space for students to explore music, and participate in trainings involving musical contributors that look and sound like the students that need to know them. Join us for this powerful conversation of how the power of music and the importance of music education is positively impactful to everyone, especially kids and especially now.  Thank you, Jacqueline. Bonus Episode! Doula Talk w/ Zoë Grove

Surprise!   Yes, I have a bonus episode for you today.   This conversation was going to be a special bonus for my newsletter community, but there were some gems I just felt needed to be shared with as many people as possible.   So today, I am introducing you to Zoë Grove. A newly minted Nurse working in Labor and Delivery, with the foundational training of being a birthing Doula.   Zoë has a unique experience of working in two worlds. One that is from her deep-rooted call to help Mothers through their journey through pregnancy and advocate for their care. The other side, from working in a hospital setting where she is the witness to the sometimes dire consequences of hospitals and health care becoming more and more of a for-profit business than for-patient care.   Zoë shares some insightful tips on questions to ask and when to ask them, her advice for partners looking to form a birth plan for their newborns, and echoes the plea of our last birthing Doula Sasha, about the importance of asking questions.   Check her out on IG @zoserwoo  Her Doula Training Program: Ancient Song Doula Training in Brooklyn  Thanks so much for listening. Don't forget to subscribe, and share!  -----------------------  I hope you all are taking care of yourselves, wishing you great health, abundance, safety, and happiness as always.
