    The Slap 👋

Friday night lights get personal in Lubbock, where No. 22 Houston rolls into Texas Tech territory riding a run game that's bulldozed everything in its path. The Red Raiders haven't lost to the Cougars since the first Bush administration was in office, and they're not exactly rolling out the welcome mat. Then Saturday cranks the drama to eleven. Lane Kiffin struts back into Oxford wearing purple and gold, ESPN's GameDay cameras rolling, ready to find out if his old flame Ole Miss can forgive and forget, or if he's about to get run out of town twice. We're calling it now. This one needs its own tissue box. But wait, there's more chaos brewing in Charlotte, where West Virginia and Virginia meet for the first time since George W. Bush's first term, both riding two game winning streaks built entirely on cupcakes. Someone's undefeated record is about to meet a real opponent. Meanwhile down in Aggieland, Texas A&M tries to avoid the classic trap game faceplant against Kentucky, complicating things nicely with a defensive coordinator swap where each team's new play caller used to run the other guy's playbook. It's giving "I know your tendencies because I invented them" energy. Sunday's NFL slate isn't playing nice either. Rodgers and the surging Steelers crash into Foxborough to test a Patriots defense that just humbled its own offense. The Bears' 78 percent of the betting public bandwagon rolls into Soldier Field against a Vikings team that inexplicably owns Chicago's number, and Lamar Jackson's Ravens look to turn the Saints into road kill in Baltimore's home opener. Add in a Texans Bengals measuring stick game where "best defense in football" got embarrassed in week one, and you've got yourself a Sunday. We close out with MNF's reunion tour. John Harbaugh's feel good Giants, fresh off knocking off Dallas, fly into SoFi Stadium to crash Matthew Stafford's revenge game, and Aaron Donald might just un-retire on national television because 2026 wasn't chaotic enough already. Buckle up, grab your betting slips, and tune in. We've got storylines, grudges, statement games, and at least one guy trying to prove his ex, a football program, made a huge mistake.
