Dear Creative Mind|a space for creative liberation

Pascale Cote

A podcast for artists & creative entrepreneurs where Pascale, creativity coach at Dear Creative Mind, shares grounding meditations, gentle coaching guidance and heartfelt conversations with inspiring artists. Creative minds are the architects of a new world and their art holds the keys to reimagining our reality. The problem is: creative minds tend to spend just as much time making self-limiting narratives as they do making art... Let's rewrite that story and help you move forward on your rebellious ideas. dearcreativemind.com | a space for creative liberation

The vessel and the voice with Penelope Trappes

A conversation with Penelope Trappes on the sacred art of making space What happens when an artist stops trying to be understood and starts listening to something deeper? In this deeply intimate conversation with Penelope Trappes, we explore what it means to trust your own voice when the world may not understand it, why she began removing lyrics from her music, and how grief and beauty can live inside the same creative act. We also touch on cyclical living, releasing work in alignment with the wheel of the year, and creative rituals that support the silence and space we need to create. A profound conversation for artists, seekers, and anyone learning to trust their voice. About Penelope Trappes Penelope Trappes is a UK-based experimental musician, vocalist and producer creating brooding atmospherics and unsettling poetics underpinned by subterranean drone. In 2025, her fifth full-length album A Requiem was released, collecting ten haunting incantations of dreams and nightmares, of death and grief, as well as power and autonomy. Carnal, transcendent cello drones are used to exorcise generational trauma in an evocative, macabre piece of gothic experimentalism. About me Pascale Côté is a creativity guide, therapeutic arts practitioner, and strategic thought partner to artists, culture-builders and creative teams. Making tender work in overwhelming times with YANA

A conversation with YANA on silence, intimacy, and the courage to make tender music in turbulent times In this conversation, we talk about the journey from classical training to finding her own voice, and what it actually takes to protect the original feeling of an idea without overworking it into something unrecognisable. We explore the intimacy in her music, and how she thinks about simplicity as a creative act. We also sit with a question many artists are carrying right now: how do you keep making tender, meaningful work when the world feels overwhelming? A gentle and honest conversation for anyone learning to trust their own creative instincts. About YANA YANA (Joanna Bieńkowska) is a classically trained violinist, instrumentalist and composer based in Gdańsk, Poland. She successfully combines classical instruments with electronic textures. She has two full-length albums to her credit — her debut, self-released Solace and Daydreamer, released in 2024 on the label founded by Icelandic producer and multi-instrumentalist Ólafur Arnalds — OPIA Community. The album delves deep into the human psyche, charting a path from inner darkness to emotional renewal. Through this new release YANA delivers an emotional and cinematic journey. In 2025, YANA released the EP The Light Between Us, which consists of six tracks created for an exhibition of Malaysian painter Sylvia Ong. YANA also creates music for visual projects — her portfolio also includes two soundtracks for short films. She is currently performing on Polish and European stages, promoting her latest album Daydreamer. What's coming on the podcast this season

This is a short introduction to the new season of the Dear Creative Mind podcast. I'm sharing what my creative world has looked like this winter, and reflect on something I've been noticing a lot in the creatives I work with lately. I also introduce the 3 artists I had the honour to interview for this season (YANA, Ileana Moro and Penelope Trappes). What connects them is something I find radical: each of them chose to remove, to subtract, to do less , and what remained became more powerful and more sincere. I close with a question to carry into spring: what can you intentionally choose to simplify this season? Imagining a new kind of creative life & business with Kimberly Spiers

In this episode, I’m joined by Kimberly Spiers, founder of The New Kind Community (formerly known as Uncommon Folk — a name change you’ll hear the full story behind in our conversation). Kimberly shares her personal definition of creativity, how her understanding of success has shifted over time, and the balance she’s discovered between following rules and breaking them. We talk about the loneliness that can arise in entrepreneurship, the inspiration behind her bold move to a new community model, and the surprising lessons she’s learned while navigating legal challenges around the business name this year. This episode is about what it really means to build a life and business that encourages us to live beyond the ordinary. About The New Kind Community Kimberly Spiers is the founder and community host of The New Kind — a global space bringing together creative, wellness, and lifestyle founders who are reimagining what work and success can look like. The community was built to help solo founders and freelancer connect beyond the surface, have real conversations about business and life, and build freedom-centred businesses that support how they actually want to live — not just how they think they should.Alongside running The New Kind, Kimberly works as a visibility and growth consultant, helping small businesses and solo founders grow their reach and impact without needing big teams or endless hustle — making marketing feel simple, human, and sustainable. Listen to this when you need to make a decision [audio remedies series]

This is part of a series of short, soothing notes, here to hold space for you when you feel stuck. In this episode, we embrace the messy, beautiful art of decision-making. We often wait for the perfect moment or all the answers to line up, but what if clarity actually comes through action? The fear of making the “wrong” choice can feel paralyzing, but every decision, imperfect as it may seem, leads you closer to what you need. About me Pascale Côté is a creativity guide, therapeutic arts practitioner, artist, and writer who helps creatives meet, understand, and express themselves by guiding them to work *with* their (creative, complex, unconventional) nature instead of against it. She helps artists, visionaries, disruptors and earth stewards break free from the vortex of overthinking and move forward with their bold, rebellious ideas. Her work challenges conventional norms, inviting creatives to explore what’s possible when they release outdated narratives and embrace their true, authentic expression. Pascale believes that art is a powerful vehicle for both individual and collective change when it’s grounded in truth—created outside the rigid systems that stifle our creative spirit. Reclaiming your creative authority with Amie McNee

In this episode, I’m joined by Amie McNee, author, speaker, and podcaster whose love letters to creators have inspired a global community of artists. Amie’s mission is radical: to dismantle the limiting narratives that keep us from making the work only we can create. Together, we explore the tender and challenging parts of the creative life: learning to honour where we are in the process (even when it feels uncomfortable), and embracing vulnerability as a vital part of art-making. We also discuss what it means to claim authority in our own lives as artists, and why that act is both personal and revolutionary. Our conversation moves into her latest book, We Need Your Art, a powerful manifesto inviting us to reclaim creativity as an essential, transformative, and deeply human responsibility. About Amie McNee Amie McNee is the author of both empowering nonfiction and bold, imaginative fiction. Through her books on creativity, including We Need Your Art, she encourages artists to take up space, embrace their unique voices, and build lives around what they love. Her historical fiction novels, rich with intrigue, defiance, and forgotten women, reimagine the past with sharp detail and emotional depth. Instagram Website We Need Your Art Fiction books The Inspired Collective About me Pascale Côté is a creativity guide, therapeutic arts practitioner, and strategic thought partner to artists, culture-builders and creative teams.
