CHAT: How to start a viral blog and donut empire with Phillip Kuoch

    HELLO!

We're back! Hope everyone enjoyed their break - we certainly did! This episode is a bit different because we recorded it while we were pre-gaming/pre-drinking before a night out, so the episode is a bit wild.

During our break we were featured by Apple Podcasts and Castbox so we thought we would start the year with a little chit chat with ourselves instead of a special guest so that our lovely new listeners can get to know us a bit!

We did record a get-to-know episode with our other co-host Tom but we decided at the last hour to pull the episode because he wasn't ready to tell his story yet.

ANYWAY - in this episode you will get to know our other co-host Phillip Kuoch who at the age of 15 started a viral k-pop blog called hellokpop, which at it's peak had 4 million monthly readers.

He then went on to start his own doughnut empire called Goldeluck's Doughnuts.

We'll let Phil do the talking because he certainly rambles on a lot when he's tipsy...

Sorry Margaret, guests need to take off their shoes in my house

Sorry Margaret, guests need to take off their shoes in my house

On this week's episode the LEMON, we discuss:

    - The new 'Mulan' trailer and why it probably won't be a box office hit in China
    - How Gabrielle Union spoke up about racism on behind the scenes of 'America's Got Talent' and then being dropped after one season of judging on the show.
    - Why Mena Massoud hasn't been offered any auditions after starring as the titular character on Aladdin, which has grossed more than 1 billion dollars at the box office.
    - ALSO, why is the internet pissed at a women named Margaret for wearing shoes in the house? Clue: she refuses to take them off because it'd ruin her outfit

CHAT: What it's like working in China's entertainment industry with Jenny Zhou

CHAT: What it's like working in China's entertainment industry with Jenny Zhou

HELLO and welcome to this week’s chat with LEMON.

This week we are joined by a really good friend of the show, Jenny Zhou

She was our first guest on the show and we got so much great feedback on Jenny’s energy

We interviewed Jenny a while back, right after she had just come back home to Melbourne after a stint in LA auditioning for TV pilots and movies

When it comes to breaking the Asian mould, Jenny’s the girl.

Right after graduating high school, Jenny did one semester of law school before deciding that she wanted to go to a Shanghai acting school.

She made the most of her time there and broke into China’s entertainment industry.

She was a host of a popular kids music show, had her own daily morning radio breakfast show AND even had roles in several Netflix series.

In this chat, we discuss about her reason behind moving to China to pursue a career and how much the entertainment industry in Australia has changed for aspiring Asian performers.

We hope you enjoy this chat with Jenny, here’s Jenny.
