Impressive podcast! I've been listening to it to reinforce the concepts covered in class with Phillip.
Reflecting on my current company, I wonder: How can I respectfully request management to be more engaged by participating in at least one safety meeting at the field occasionally? There seems to be a significant gap in understanding due to differing working hours. Jobsites typically commence at 7:00 am or 6:00 pm for night shifts, while management adheres strictly to office hours (9:00 am - 5:00 pm or 6:00 pm).
Is it unreasonable to ask them to adjust their schedules to attend and actively participate in at least one PTP, JHA, or toolbox meeting per month? Should they indeed consider doing so? I firmly believe that the construction industry demands adaptability and availability from all stakeholders, including management. However, how can one effectively persuade a manager to alter their personal schedule for a day per week or month to demonstrate engagement with the jobsite?
To clarify, by "Management," I refer to project managers, project engineers, field engineers, and project coordinators.
