    Let People Meet You Again

You may have changed, but have you given other people the opportunity to recognize who you are becoming? In this solo episode, Jacqueline explores the visibility work that must happen after personal or professional evolution. It is not enough to privately know that your vision, interests, or work have changed. If you want people to support, recommend, hire, or collaborate with the person you are today, you must give them updated information. Building on episodes 280 and 281, Jacqueline explains why becoming visible sometimes means allowing yourself to be seen differently—not simply being seen more frequently. In this episode, you will learn: -Why people often continue associating you with an earlier version of your work -How repetition builds—and changes—your professional reputation -Why one announcement is rarely enough to reposition an established person or brand -How to connect your previous experience to your next chapter -Why temporary unfamiliarity does not mean your evolution is a mistake -How to reintroduce yourself without rejecting your history or overexplaining your choices -Why building something new and helping people understand it are both part of the work Jacqueline also shares how she is reintroducing the evolving Scarlet ecosystem, including The Scarlet Institute, Scarlet House, The Manner Box, and Just Start: Get Visible. Your Just Start action: Complete and share this statement: You may know me for __________, but in this next season, I am also focusing on __________. Do not make people rely on outdated information about you. Give them the opportunity to meet you again.

You Are Allowed to Outgrow What Worked

Something does not have to be failing for you to decide it is time for something new. In this solo episode, Jacqueline explores the courage required to evolve beyond a role, business, identity, or definition of success that may still be working, but no longer reflects who you are becoming. Building on her conversation with Andrea Williams in episode 280, Jacqueline shares why growth does not require us to reject or diminish the chapters that came before. An earlier version of your work can be valuable, successful, and deeply meaningful without being your final destination. In this episode, you will learn: -Why we often wait for failure before giving ourselves permission to change -How familiarity can disguise itself as alignment -Why outgrowing something does not mean it was a mistake -How previous chapters prepare us for opportunities we could not initially imagine -Why your evolution may make sense to you before it makes sense to everyone else -How Scarlet House represents the next evolution of Scarlet's 15-year commitment to confidence, consideration, and preparation Jacqueline also introduces a simple reflection exercise inviting you to identify what you are ready to continue, evolve, and release. Your next chapter does not require you to criticize the last one. You can honor what brought you here while still making room for what comes next. Your Just Start action: Choose one thing you are ready to evolve and take one visible step toward it. Learn More About Scarlet House Scarlet House is a digital etiquette and life-skills membership created for the entire family, from children ages 7–17 to adults navigating business meals, travel, hosting, dating, professional settings, and more.

The Magic Is You with Andrea Williams

What happens when your work, identity, and relationship with visibility evolve at the same time? In this episode, Jacqueline sits down with her longtime friend and fellow Cass Tech graduate, Andrea Williams, for a personal conversation about creativity, entrepreneurship, brand evolution and learning to become more visible. Andrea reflects on the two sides of her design career: the service-based work she has created for clients and the product-based stationery businesses that require customers to connect with her as the person behind the brand. While client work often allows a designer to remain behind the scenes, selling her own products has challenged Andrea to show up, share her story and develop a different relationship with visibility. The conversation also explores Andrea's journey through several brand identities, including Andrea Designs and Paisley Paper Co., and the deeply personal inspiration behind her newest chapter, Record Record Paper. The name honors the creative influence of her late father, grandmother and uncle while connecting two meaningful ideas: music and the importance of documenting our lives. In this episode, Jacqueline and Andrea discuss: -How Andrea's relationship with visibility has evolved throughout her design career -The differences between being visible in a service-based business and a product-based brand -Why saying "yes" can create valuable early opportunities—and eventually lead to burnout -How to make new commitments more intentionally and within defined periods of time -Why investing in another creative can sometimes be the best use of your time and energy -The personal history and family legacy behind Record Paper -Why handwritten notes remain meaningful in a world built around immediate communication -How tangible artifacts can preserve connection, care, and important life moments -Why evolving your brand does not mean abandoning the audience you have already built For creatives and entrepreneurs who are afraid to change direction, Andrea offers a powerful reminder: **The magic is you.** People may initially discover you through a product, service or business name, but their deeper connection is often with the person, perspective, and care behind the work. That connection gives you room to grow, rebrand and create something that more fully reflects who you have become. This conversation is a reminder that visibility does not require you to remain the same. Sometimes getting visible means trusting that who you are becoming is worth introducing.

Your Legacy Starts Before Anyone Is Watching

What if your legacy isn't something you leave behind, but something you're building right now? In Episode 275 of Just Start: Get Visible, Jacqueline M. Baker celebrates the 15th anniversary of Scarlet by reflecting on what 15 years of starting, building, learning and evolving have taught her about legacy. Legacy can sound like a big word, something reserved for the end of a career, an extraordinary accomplishment, or people with enormous influence. But Jacqueline challenges that idea. Your legacy is being built in the ordinary moments. It's the email you finally send. The idea you decide to pursue. The way you make someone feel. The willingness to become a beginner again. The work you continue doing when no one is applauding yet In this special solo episode, Jacqueline explores: - Reframing Legacy: Why legacy isn't reserved for prestigious titles, wealth, or major accomplishments and how seemingly small actions contribute to the impact you make. - Staying a Beginner: How continuing to learn, experiment, and try new things keeps you growing throughout every season of life and leadership. - Building on Ordinary Days: Why meaningful momentum is often created through consistent, behind-the-scenes action rather than big, splashy moments. - Getting Visible: How allowing yourself and your ideas to be seen can create opportunities you couldn't have planned for. - Creating Meaningful Experiences: Why one of the most lasting parts of your legacy may simply be how people felt when they were in your care. - Building Legacy Now: Why you don't have to wait until the end of your career, or your life, to decide how you want to be remembered. Celebrating 15 Years of Scarlet As Scarlet celebrates 15 years, Jacqueline also shares what's next, including new opportunities to continue the company's longstanding commitment to etiquette, leadership, learning, and creating meaningful experiences. She introduces the upcoming Scarlet Family Etiquette Membership, designed to make ongoing etiquette education accessible to adults and young people, along with Dining Etiquette Weekend on October 24th, bringing families together for an interactive dining etiquette experience using Scarlet's signature Manner Box. But the celebration isn't only about looking back at what Scarlet has built. It's an invitation to look forward. Memorable Takeaway: Legacy isn't something you leave behind. It's something you're building while you're still here. Reflection Question If the next 15 years are part of the legacy you're building right now, what do you want to start? You don't have to know exactly where it will lead. You don't need the entire plan. You don't need to wait until you're completely ready. Sometimes, you simply need to give yourself permission to just start.
