    Choosing your Fit: Factors That May Impact your Choice in a Residency Program

    For the final episode of 2025, we interview Drs. Loan Lam and Angela Nguyen on their journey to different types of residency. Dr. Lam did her residency with WSU CPPS Providence Visiting Nurses while Dr. Nguyen did her PGY1 residency with Providence Sacred Heart and PGY2 residency with UC Irvine in infectious diseases. Choosing a program can be tough with over 2,000 programs available in the United States.     Lessons Learned from Residency

    In this podcast, WSU student representative, Catherine Cara, and Director of Professional Affairs, Boris Zhang interviews two pharmacists who recently finished a PGY1 experience. Through this discussion, they will explore what led both of these pharmacists to pursue PGY1’s and then what led them to choose their current route. Dr. Spencer Knudson finished his PGY1 experience at Tacoma General and is now practicing as a pharmacist doing both amb care services and inpatient services. Dr. Kaela Bergeron did her PGY1 residency at the University of Vermont Medical Center and is now doing her PGY2 psychatric residency with UW Medicine.
