The Great ReThink, Hybrid Working & making the Gig Economy work for you

"We all quit!" (Sorry for the inconvenience)  In July 2020, a post from Burger King employees in Nebraska went VIRAL as news outlets reported at least 7 of the 11 employees at a Lincoln branch quit at the same time.    https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/...  Stories of short staffing, financial pressures, managerial turnover and "hectic" work conditions seemed to resonate with people all over the world.   What we all want and expect from work & career has changed massively over the last two years and jobs that didn't exist a couple of years back have become real career opportunities. Rising food and fuel prices have meant that most of us are the feeling the squeeze RN.  In this pod, we discuss the effects this new economic reality has had on us as a family, what we've learnt from the stage of life we've just left behind & the new skills were learning for the future... Youtube   ▶️ https://www.youtube.com/kingdomcompanychurch Instagram  📱 https://www.instagram.com/kingdom_company_ https://www.instagram.com/MatthewJamesHooper https://www.instagram.com/ClareHooper Facebook  😀 📘 https://www.facebook.com/kingdomcompanychurch Website https://kingdomcompany.co/ In today's episode, we'll be discussing the importance of taking responsibility for our own growth and development, rather than relying solely on our employers. As Christians, we are called to be fulfilled and to live out our purpose in all areas of our lives, including the workplace. One of the key takeaways from today's discussion is the idea of being "multi-hyphenated". This means not putting all of our eggs in one basket and instead having multiple sources of income and activities that enrich us and draw on our skills. This can provide a sense of autonomy and flexibility that allows us to thrive and flourish in all areas of our lives. Our guest speaker for today is someone who has personally experienced the challenges and benefits of balancing multiple sources of income and finding work that aligns with their values and mission. They share their experience of working for a stable organization with good values while also pursuing their goal of planting a church. As we navigate the complexities of balancing our faith, personal development, and career, it's important to remember that our well-being and professional development are ultimately in our own hands. We encourage you to think about your own needs and to reach for them, whether that be through professional development opportunities offered by your employer or through other means. So join us as we explore the theme of thriving in the workplace, and how to balance our personal and professional goals as Christians. Thanks for listening, and we'll be back next week with more insights and inspiration on this topic.
