Gerald Yerkes, recently retired from the pastorate after 54 years of serving in that capacity, is grateful for the opportunity to continue proclaiming God’s message through these podcasts. He invites you to join him on a journey. The goal of which is to ensure we are able to present ourselves to God unashamedly. Even as the Apostle Paul challenged Timothy in 2 Timothy 2:15, we are called to work hard in order to present ourselves to God as approved workmen with no reason to be ashamed.

    SNS 123: Equipped To Win

    A critical part of our journey is preparing our minds for action. It begins by acknowledging that we are indeed at war with our spiritual enemy, the devil.     SNS 119: How To Be Receptive To God's Call

    SNS 118: Receptive To God's Call?

    Every journey begins with one step. Last time, we saw that the first step is to be born again. And this is only experienced through a personal relationship with Jesus.  The first thing required for this step is that we must be receptive to God’s call. What is this call?     As with any journey, if we have any hope of reaching our destination and hearing, “Well done, thou good and faithful servant!” as we stand before the Lord. Not only must we be on the right path. But we also must follow the right directions. What these directions are is the topic of this episode. Acts 4:11, 12 – Peter tells Israel’s leaders that though they had rejected him, Jesus had become the very cornerstone in the building of a relationship with God. There is salvation in no one else; there is no other name under heaven that has been given by which we must be saved. 1 Peter 2: 6-8 – Peter shares Scripture talking about God placing Jesus, the precious cornerstone, who has great honor, in Jerusalem. And those who trust him will never be disgraced.     SNS 116: The Journey Begins: Are You Certain You Are A Redeemed Child of God?

    Every journey begins somewhere. The journey of being a follower of Jesus is no exception. Are you certain you are a follower of Jesus, a child of God? On what is that certainty based? Join Gerald Yerkes as he shares what Scripture says is the way to know for certain that you are a redeemed child of God. Depart from me. Matthew 7:24-27 Everyone who hears and puts into practice... the story of the wise man who built on stone and so it did not fall in the storm.
