Pros and cons with this one. I’ll start with the good. Jack is a good host. He’s knowledgeable and clearly loves this team. Having a regular source of Royals talk is good, and he’s good with being up front if the schedule is going to change. Unfortunately, those positives are washed out by the negatives. Jack seems hesitant, scared, or unwilling to call out the coaching staff, front office, or ownership. I can chalk this up to his position as a reporter but it’s a bit tiring. The worst aspect of the podcast, however, is the post cast. Chance is not a good host at all and comes off very immature to the point where I’ve had to stop listening. Two instances come to mind. First, a while back he got very mad at those on the live chat who were blaming Q for the team’s struggles and borderline attacked them for not blaming the players as there was nothing Q could do. Then, once the team started to rebound, on social media he praised how great Q was for turning the team around. Can’t have it both ways. And second, last night I tune into the live stream (that had 3 listeners including myself) to see that someone from the official account (presumably Chance) called people idiots in the chat for wanting to see Triple A players get a shot. Unprofessional. If you want to listen, stick to the portions hosted by Jack and skip the post casts. It’s what I’ve started to do.

This podcast is hard to evaluate. Jack, the main host is pretty solid. However Chance, who hosts the post game pods (which show up in the same feed) , is inarticulate, regularly unprepared, and out of the 5 of his I listened to, in 4 of them it appeared as though he did not even watch the game. Jack does a good job following off-season content, but I am done with the in season pods.
