    POST CAST: Wild Outclassed at Home by Reeling Devils 5-2

    The Minnesota Wild suffered their 2nd straight defeat as they fell 5-2 at the hands of the New Jersey Devils Monday night at Grand Casino Arena. The Wild fell to 26-12-9 at home, and fell behind on an initial goal by the Devils in the first period. The Wild briefly tied the game on Ryan Hartman's 12th goal of the season, before the Devils again reclaimed the lead 2-1. The Devils rattled off 3 straight goals in the 3rd period to take a 5-1 lead before Marcus Foligno scored his second goal of the year to make it 5-2. Jesper Wallstedt stopped 24 of 29 shots in net for the Wild, who went 1/2 on the Power Play and hey! No Power Play goals for the Devils. The Wild host Winnipeg on Thursday for their next game.     The Minnesota Wild chased Carter Hart and throttled the Vegas Golden Knights 5-2 Monday night in Vegas to start their 7 game road trip 2-0. The Wild scored 5 goals against Carter Hart in just over 26 minutes. As they scored 2 goals in the first, and 3 goals in the second. Marcus Johansson, Matt Boldy, Joel Eriksson Ek, Jared Spurgeon and Brock Faber scored in the win, and Filip Gustavsson stopped 14 of 16 shots in net for the Wild. The Wild were 2/2 on the Penalty Kill and 0/2 on the Power Play, and blocked 20 shots. The Wild will head to San Jose for a New Year's Eve afternoon matinee for their next game.
